Business Controller P&C EMEA

We are looking for a qualified and highly motivated Senior Financial Analyst to join our Reinsurance Finance EMEA team.

 

About the Role

 

You will support the Controlling and Reporting EMEA unit in their mandate to prepare, monitor and comment on financial results of the Property and Casualty (P&C) business in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and for the legal entities Swiss Re Europe (SRE) and Swiss Re Zurich (SRZ). This includes comprehensive analysis to enable effective business performance steering for the defined area of responsibility and preparation of quarterly IFRS reports.
 
•    Prepare quarterly reporting packages with underlying trends / issues identified for presentation to senior management
•    Ensure accuracy and quality of financial figures over the closing cycle in close collaboration with BU Reinsurance Accounting & Reporting and Business Management P&C. 

•    Review quarterly P&C business, actively monitor closing relevant events, develop know-how and become specialist in respective lines of business.
•    Review the efficiency of the controls in place and maintain documentation 
•    Prepare financial analytics and substantiation for the EMEA entities and region, provide comprehensive and important business insight to the relevant partners.
•    Establishes strong working relationship with our key business partners and act as a strong team member. The position acts with a high degree of autonomy and discretion within the delegated authority.
•    Find opportunities for improvements, take leadership to make a proposal and initiate implementation.
•    Contribute to key projects and ad hoc initiatives as required by the business
•    Support audit activities and prepare required information in connection with the internal and external audit

 

About the Team
 
This role provides the opportunity to gain a broad understanding of the financial steering and reporting of a Reinsurance industry leader. You will work in a small team of specialists in a dynamic and fast paced environment and collaborate closely with expert colleagues that will support your professional and personnel development.


About You 


•    University graduate with a primary or higher degree (or equivalent), preferably in finance/accounting/economics and with at least 3 years of relevant working experience.
•    Experience in financial reporting focused on timely delivery and high quality of output.
•    Property & Casualty reinsurance experience is an advantage. 

•    Accounting knowledge of IFRS reporting standards is an advantage

•    Ability to translate complex information into effective communication to partners
•    Strong command of Microsoft Excel and Power Point.
•    Curious, proactive and able to perform tasks independently. 

•    Strong analytical skills and good business judgement to deliver high-quality output. Capability to set priorities and work on your own initiative.
•    Ability to make decisions within the parameters of the role. Can explain the business rationale behind decisions and can demonstrate a methodical/rational process for decisions.

The minimum gross monthly base salary for this role is 2000 EUR full time. Our final offer to you will be set up fairly, considering the skills and experience that you bring to the Swiss Re Group.
