Technical Accounting L&H Team Leader | Mexico City - Hybrid Working Model

About the Role:

This role supervises the work of team members, provides guidance on specific matters, authorizes claims/payments (in accordance with corresponding guidelines), builds team spirit (motivational) and allocates resources based on workloads.

The challenges and daily activities of the position include:
- Responsible for the assignment of work to the accounting operations team.
- Provides input into the performance management process. 
- Serves as a resource, ensuring that client issues are promptly resolved.
- Monitors workflow and schedules assignments. 
- Provides on-going training for new and experienced staff members. 
- Develops new procedures or enhances current procedures to improve team       productivity.
- Provides on-going communication with the manager regarding production and staff performance

 

Essential Responsibilities:

-    Assigns tasks to an accounting operations team in TA. Organizes the work, sets short-term priorities, monitors all activity, and ensures timely and accurate completion of work.
-    Function as process expert for assigned team.
-    Provides input into the performance management process and staffing decisions.
-    Monitors client accounts. 
-    Provides backup support for accounting operations team which include, correcting internal reports regarding financial positions, reconciling client accounts, and processing transactions.
-    Provides on-going training for new and experienced staff.
-    Reviews team reports, informing staff of errors, assisting in problem resolution.
-    Researches and resolves problems using in-depth knowledge of accounting operations processes.
-    Develops new or enhances current procedures, improving productivity for team.
-    Provides on-going communication with manager regarding production status and staff performance.
-    Has an in-depth knowledge of all key controls and guidelines.
-    Execute special projects as required by management.  


About you:

-    Strong Analytical skills (Flair for figures).
-    Sound Financial Accounting and accounting principles accounting know – how.
-    Strong computer skills.
-    4 Year college degree in accounting or business related field or equivalent experience.
-    Effective interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills. 
-    Excellent problem solving skills and can work in a fast paced environment.
-    Ability to work as a team player while demonstrating leadership traits to steer our processing units/centers.
-    Able to work in a virtual/remote international/global/multicultural team environment.
-    Proven track record of being a self starter, ability to manage own workload effectively.
-    Ability to adapt to changes and implement them accordingly.
-    Result oriented working style, with strong focus on performance, targets and risk management. 
-    Strong service and client orientation.
-    Reinsurance or insurance accounting experience would be an added advantage.
-    Basic reinsurance accounting know – how, desirable.
