Benefits

Swiss Re offers attractive benefits to support you and your family’s health and finances. Please check out our benefits brochure for more information.

Working flexibly

Own the Way You Work is an integral part of the Swiss Re culture. It's a mutual commitment between the company and the individual, the team and each team member and the line manager and the employee.

Choose when, where and how you Work.

  • Swiss Re's family benefits enabled me to be there for our baby's early life

Swiss Re's family benefits were a hugely positive experience for me and my family following the birth of our first child. I was able to take a flexible, extended period of shared parental leave at full pay. This allowed me to be a part of our baby's early life which was such a rewarding experience. I also took advantage of Swiss Re's free family care benefit through which I received funded childcare when I had a clash with work commitments.

  • Each day, I show up to work as my true authentic self

I say "y'all" in negotiations; I talk of my husband; if a colleague asks or comes to me for support, I share my own (challenging) "coming out" story and struggles with mental health. I am a lawyer. I am a classically trained pianist. I am from rural Alabama. I am married to a Muslim. I am Christian. I am gay. To some, – a plethora of contradictions. To others, a success story. Every day, I bring that multitude of selves to work because I believe that authenticity is the greatest gift one can give the world. At Swiss Re, that is honoured.

  • Swiss Re UK's inclusive language guide aims to take the embarrassment and fear factor out of inclusive conversations

Inclusion begins with being a patient listener and understanding perspectives. The inclusive language guide has been a great tool for me in understanding and considering everyone at Swiss Re and beyond. It's equipped me to teach my children to be respectful of all people, without bias or prejudice. I truly believe in our Generations Network's mission "To celebrate knowledge and experience by recognising that we can all learn from each other".

  • The HR apprenticeship allows me to gain on the job experience

As an apprentice I'm eager to grow and develop through experiencing a fast-paced work environment while also completing my designated course to develop my skills and further my career. While I have the flexibility to study towards my qualification, I can also develop a wide variety of skills and gain knowledge through the content on Swiss Re's LearningOne platform.

  • National Equality Standard

The NES is an industry recognised national standard for equality, diversity and inclusion in the UK. The NES provided Swiss Re with a comprehensive review of our policies and practices, driving insight and providing strategic guidance and recommendations as we seek to build a truly diverse, equitable and inclusive culture.
