About the Role

This position serves as the key entry point for HR and the Business on Reward topics. In this role, you support providing direction on Compensation matters for the Business Functions Reinsurance and Life Capital.


Your main responsibilities include:

  • To provide holistic support on all elements of compensation, primarily working with HR Partners and HR Advisors and Business representatives/leaders and to support on Reward projects, as well as client specific key Reward initiatives
  • To lead the Annual Compensation Review process within client areas and to support executing on the Group Reward Strategy as well as any other Human Resources initiatives from a One-HR perspective
  • To provide advice on MD life-cycle events, such as hires, compensation offers and adjustments, transfers, redeployment and off-boarding
  • Together with the HR Partner or Head of HR and Business leaders, to set and design the Reward strategic direction for assigned unit(s), ensuring alignment with client priorities, market developments, regulatory requirements and Swiss Re direction
  • To maintain compliance with the Group governance framework and Compensation Standard
  • Apart from these key features of the role, as a Reward Consultant you would also be included in many other areas of the team. This includes (but is not limited to) helping us with a sustainable, professional and structured communications programme within and from our team, and also helping with developing talents, and foster team ethic within the Reward team as well as across the Human Resources Department.


About the Team

The Reward department consists of around 40 employees, across all Swiss Re main regions and acts as a truly global team. Reward has a meaningful role to play in attracting, retaining and developing the talent that the Group need to succeed. Through the design, implementation and effective management of competitive, compliant and transparent Reward plans, the team strives for full alignment with our company's people direction. The Reward Consultant provides advising services and specialist advice to a range of different partners mainly on Compensation issues.


About You

  • We are looking for an experienced colleague with around 7+ years of demonstrated and successful experience in Compensation advisory, ideally in an international business environment
  • You should have a strong focus on the client and a profound ability to handle relationships inside and outside of HR
  • For this we need you to be an effective teammate with the desire to build consensus in cross functional teams, you are great in your communication and great in your interpersonal skills, in order for you to translate technical concepts into "plain" language for a broader audience with various perspectives
  • You should be able to work independently in an unstructured environment and have a can-dot work attitude


Beyond this we expect from you:

  • To be a great analytical person, along with the ability to offer alternatives and develop creative pragmatic solutions
  • Excellent knowledge of MS office skills
  • High level of quality in own work
  • Fluent in English, any other language (especially German) an advantage
  • Higher degree / education
