Product Manager for iptiQ EMEA P&C

iptiQ EMEA Property & Casualty is a newly built unit within Swiss Re Life Capital, established to deliver digital-native and creative solutions for Property & Casualty (P&C) clients and partners across Europe that engage with consumers in non-traditional ways.

 

About the role

As Product Manager, you will have a unique and exciting opportunity to join us: a diverse and motivated team, committed to delivering value and innovative services together with our clients and partners in the primary insurance space.You will be a member of the Insurance & Propositions Department, and will be responsible for the development of easy-to-understand and innovative insurance products suitable for digitalization for our initial focus markets Italy.

 

You will work closely in cross functional teams evaluating key consumer needs to build a great customer experience using state-of-the-art technology solutions. While enabling attractive sales journeys, you will ensure robust underwriting, and work together with the claims team to ensure end-to-end automation capabilities. You will report to the Head Insurance & Propositions.

 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Develop innovative and easy to understand P&C products starting from our customers' perspective and in close collaboration with claims
  • Create very modular products enabling high flexibility on coverage and object bundles while keeping adverse selection risks under tight control
  • Work closely with UX designers to create new consumer propositions focusing on simplifying insurance products and on increasing transparency
  • Monitor market developments, evaluate upcoming consumer needs and perform competitor benchmarking to ensure adequate positioning of our products
  • Be responsible for your own market/partners and manage your product portfolio through continuous testing of different bundles, tariffs and sales journeys
  • Closely monitor your product portfolio and customer composition, gather relevant data to continuously gain new insights and adjust our product offering to optimize performance and profitability
  • Participate in sales pitches and ideation workshops as part of a cross-functional team to onboard new distribution partners in your market

 

About the team

About you

  • At least five years of experience in personal lines P&C product departments
  • Solid understanding of regulatory requirements around T&C development and a strong view on underlying trends governing main or niche P&C product categories
  • Creative and have many ideas how to improve the current market practices and enhancing the customer experience through simplified and transparent products
  • Hands-on and independent working style embracing cross-functional teams and partnering with distribution partners from different industries and backgrounds
  • Technology minded with a clear view on how technology can be used for customer friendly underwriting and more attractive insurance products
  • Entrepreneurial and able to demonstrate commercial acumen when partnering with distributors and driving product innovation
  • Clear and effective communication with internal and external business leaders within and outside the insurance industry
  • Fluency in Dutch and English; fluency in other EU languages is an advantage
