About the role

Would you like to build and run your own business? Do you have extensive property & casualty insurance knowledge? Do you like travel? If yes, this position may be for you.

Client Managers are responsible for managing existing client relationships and establishing new client relationships. Target market is comprised of property & casualty companies across the United States. You will work with a cross functional team of insurance professionals to produce and retain profitable treaty reinsurance business within a defined US territory.

  • Establish, build and manage relationships with C-suite executives at businesses that buy reinsurance or influence reinsurance buying decisions.
  • Find opportunities for delivering Swiss Re products and services.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, claims, business development and business services colleagues to write new treaty reinsurance business and maintain existing treaty reinsurance relationships.
  • Manage the transaction process for new and renewal business.


About the team

This role serves the US Regional & National Direct client segment, with a goal of delivering Swiss Re's full suite of reinsurance and capital management solutions to market. Client Managers are the hubs that bring together all cross-functional team members as well as Swiss Re senior management. This is a Vice President level position.


About you

• Minimum of 10 years of property & casualty insurance/reinsurance experience.

• Self-starter with a deep understanding of client management.

• Excellent interpersonal, written communication and presentation skills.

• Thorough understanding of the US domestic property & casualty insurance market.

• Strong negotiation and analytical skills.

• Extensive experience with client facing meetings involving C-suite executives.

• High level of domestic travel required.
