About the role

 

In this role, you will grow your understanding of life insurance products and fundamental actuarial competencies. This role will involve the pricing and implementation of new life insurance products and riders, profitability analysis of life products and assumption development. This role is expected to develop knowledge and solutions for customers, business partners and iptiQ. Will interact frequently with stakeholders within iptiQ and Swiss Re, as well as, external parties. Our Actuarial Development Program is designed to provide students with work assignments and projects that are challenging, educational and promote personal and professional development. Full support for Actuarial Exams including Study Time and Exam fee reimbursement, as well as salary increases for Exam progression are provided. About the team

 

The iptiQ Americas Pricing Team is a part of the iptiQ Global department of Swiss Re. The team develops and prices Life and Health products that are innovative protection solutions sold directly to consumers to close the protection gap in the U.S. This is an exciting, dynamic team with Actuaries who possess the highest level of expertise in the industry, and plays a key role in driving the business forward. The Pricing team works closely with various areas throughout the iptiQ organization as well as Swiss Re. The team is based in Armonk but can provide flexibility to work in the NYC office as well as remotely part-time.

 

Job responsibilities

 

  • Support the research and implementation of new Life Insurance products and riders for iptiQ Americas.
  • Assist with pricing new Life insurance products for the US market.
  • Perform pricing projections and profit analyses using MG-ALFA and Excel.
  • Assist with developing and testing new pricing assumptions.
  • Perform competitive analysis to assess the competitiveness of new products.
  • Perform ad hoc profitability analysis to support the business.
  • Compliance with the provisions of the Actuarial Development Program, including but not limited to exam progression.

 

 

About you

 

  • Minimum four-year degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, economics, finance, computer science or related field with proven mathematical skills and analytical ability; additional course work in computer programming, data science or statistical analysis, business and/or communications will be a plus.
  • Knowledge of actuarial concepts and principles, demonstrated by passing 2 or more actuarial exams.
  • Prior experience in an Actuarial internship or entry-level Actuarial position a plus.
  • Strong technical skills. Software experience includes Excel and Visual Basic. Actuarial software such as MG-ALFA, Prophet or AXIS preferred. Experience with Python, R or SAS a plus.
