About the Role:


Join a team of Business Development professionals working side by side with client managers to originate and commercialize reinsurance business opportunities:

  • Develop and promote the value proposition of reinsurance as a pro-active element within clients' strategic and capital management toolkit
  • Join marketing efforts as part of a deal team
  • Contribute to Client Engagement Plans and relationship development with a focus on value creation opportunities
  • Perform financial valuation and flexibility analysis and assess other client financial and strategic measures to identify potential opportunities

Help develop and maintain Business Development's toolkit including:

  • Identifying key trends/issues and their potential impact on clients, including assessing the value impact of reinsurance solutions
  • Interfacing regularly with Products colleagues to develop new solutions and optimize existing ones as a result of emerging and changing client needs
  • Modeling and illustrating the cost/benefit effects of reinsurance solutions under different capital regimes (eg.,AMBest, S&P, Solvency II, economic)


About the Team:


The Business Development team identifies, originates, and develops reinsurance solutions for clients' strategic objectives across the globe.  The team is collaborative and made up of creative, inquisitive, and engaging people who seek opportunity, explore possibilities, and bring them to commercial realization.


About You:


  • Good combined knowledge of corporate finance, accounting, solvency and ratings capital frameworks, and company valuation drivers – possibly demonstrated through prior experience at a bank or rating agency
  • Good knowledge of the L&H and P&C industries including primary insurance markets, trends, and products
  • Strong communicator, particularly with an aptitude for sales, and an ability to conduct business in English
  • Creative thinker; comfortable working on solutions across varied client needs
  • Ability to prioritize and apply sound commercial judgment
  • Ability to support deal team execution as a team member or leader (player/coach)
