About the role


As a multi-faceted expense accountant and business analyst, are you looking for new challenges to grow personally in a start-up environment? In this position, you will have an exceptional and exciting opportunity to join the Finance team in charge of running the expense accounting, including forecasting and plan of iptiQ, a new US business unit within a global organization. You will join a diverse team committed to delivering services to iptiQ's wide variety of clients. This includes primary services that can help our partners increase penetration and profitability in their markets, as well as services to our clients. We put the consumer experience at the heart of everything we do.

As part of this role, you will:


  • Capture and control all actual, forecasted and planning expense financial activities and transactions. Ensure the accurate, timely completion of quarterly and annual accounting close cycles for a complex expense accounting function by effective planning, monitoring, and problem solving.
  • Oversee the expense accounting of all expense related financial transactions generated ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively cross-functionally to deliver high quality functionalities;
  • Effectively interact with external vendors and internal customers on a daily basis;
  • Be a problem solver: analyze issues, identify root causes, propose solutions and consistently track issue resolution.



You will also:


  • Support the Financial reporting team in providing accounting information such as financial statements, footnote schedules, regulatory reports and other management reports. Implement new statutory and GAAP expense related accounting requirements and determine the accounting process for new transactions and related activities.
  • Use professional insight to identify and implement accounting improvements that increase the business value and efficiency
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns, working closely with other internal customers
  • Evaluate, recommend and implement solutions to improve efficiency and increase quality


About You


  • You have 4-8 years of experience in the insurance accounting field
  • Bachelor's degree (Accounting or Finance) is required. CPA or advanced degree in Accounting is preferred.
  • You possess a broad financial acumen, familiarity with the accounting for expenses and expense allocations to insurance products as well as a strong control orientation.
  • Skills should include a strong understanding of statutory and GAAP expense accounting requirements, expense controls, prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, maintenance expenses, deferrable and non-deferrable selling expenses, intangibles, goodwill, expense pricing assumptions in insurance contracts, goodwill, expense budget, and intercompany expense transactions. 
  • You must be comfortable working within a highly collaborative broader functional team. 
  • Must demonstrate the ability to execute thoroughly in a fast-paced work environment, adapting quickly to changing conditions to achieve results.
  • Possesses an advanced understanding of GAAP and statutory accounting principles.
  • You effectively communicate business issues, objectives and scope. You have strong presentation skills and enjoy working within a rapidly changing environment.
  • You are passionate about delivering customer value and seamless customer experience. You are detailed oriented and take pride in delivering high quality results.
