Summary

The candidate supports the Americas Group Security Manager in ensuring offices are compliant with our safety & security, business continuity, and incident management Group requirements for offices in North and South America. He/she reviews the location safety/security setup, business continuity preparedness, and incident management arrangements, performing the 2nd line of defence assurance activities. He/she also delivers on new initiatives designed to strengthen our Operating Model covering BCM, Safety & Security and Incident Management, and offers advice, assistance, and training as needed.

 

The Group Security Risk Analyst identifies potential issues that could threaten the Swiss Re Group and provides a framework for building resilience and the capability for an effective response.

 

He/she reports to the Group Security Manager Americas.

 

About the Role

 

Business Continuity Management / Operational Resilience

  • Provides BCM and emergency staff notification systems training to new and existing users
  • Conducts annual reviews of BC plans in the Americas to verify adherence to Group Policy
  • Provides guidance and support to Location Business Continuity Managers in developing and maintaining their BC plans
  • Provides independent assurance over BC plans
  • Facilitates knowledge exchange and staffing of the region-specific Business Continuity Managers network.
  • Monitors developments in the risk landscape in the Americas, and assists locations in developing preventive, protective and post-event mitigation measures.
  • Generates periodic and ad-hoc reports

 

Safety & Security

  • Co-ordinates, trains and supports the safety/security organization for Swiss Re locations in the Americas.
  • Is involved in setting up local security concepts for large events.
  • Is involved in providing consultancy in construction projects in his/her region.
  • Assesses security related information to determine the probability/impact on Swiss Re operations in order to develop appropriate preventive measures.

 

Incident Management

  • Is involved in conducting incident management exercises with location Incident Management Teams.
  • Supports Incident Management Teams and Location Heads and takes an active part during actual incidents and business disruptions.
  • Evaluates incidents and provides lessons learned from a governance perspective.
  • Assists with internal and external security investigations that arise from internal incidents
     

Compliance and controlling activities

  • Monitors adherence to relevant policies and standards (e.g. safety and security, business continuity, event and travel security
  • Conducts risk-based on-site safety/security and business continuity reviews, resulting in the issuing of issues and subsequently ensuring their remediation
  • Issues recommendations for incident preparedness and response improvements.
  • Analyses operational reports and proposes remediation actions

 

Representation activities

  • Represents Swiss Re in safety/security and business continuity management related professional associations in the Americas.
  • Interacts as necessary with intelligence services and private/public sector organisations in the Americas

 

About the Team

About You

  

You have

  • A diploma or degree in a safety/security, business continuity or incident management discipline is a plus
  • A certification by a professional organization plus a minimum of 1-3 years of professional-level experience in safety/security, business continuity and incident management
  • Strong written and verbal skills in English; spoken Spanish and/or Portuguese is an advantage
  • A deep understanding of digital technologies, e.g. mobile apps, mass notification, and training tools
  • Experience in incident and business continuity management (exercises and real incidents), including use of IT tools
  • A strong ability to visualize and explain issues to wider audiences, including business stakeholders
  • Experience in working with the MS Office Suite, especially Excel, Sharepoint and Teams
  • Ability to travel - including international
