About You

  • You will lead complex technical projects that represent multi-vendor and/or complex business needs.
  • You will lead solution designing to deliver high quality, secure, scalable solutions
  • You will be hiring, managing, and coaching distributed scrum team members
  • You will oversee and be accountable the delivery quality of the teams' commitments
  • You will strengthen and enforce the agile delivery practice within the team
  • You will become the subject matter expertise for the feature functions and how it impacts the business
  • You will be collaborating with functional leaders in Product Management and Operations on defining feature roadmaps and priorities
  • You will be hands on with the software and works through technical challenges with developers
  • You will lead research and evaluation of new technologies and patterns leads to quality PoCs
  • You will leverage your experience to continuously optimize the existing tech landscape
  • You will be the liaison between Production Support and scrum team
  • You will be assisting in production troubleshooting and triaging of issues to their respective teams



You have BS in Computer Science / Engineering or related field or equivalent experience. 



  • 8 years of hands-on development as a professional developer. 1 year minimum managing a team
  • Expertise in one or more of the following languages / runtimes: Scala, Play, React, Java, Node, .NET, Python, or similar language. 
  • Experience with rational and NOSQL databases
  • Expertise in as many areas of the following: ESB/API Gateways, Workflow Engines, Rules Engines, Authentication/Authorization, Message/event queues
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Scrum and Agile based environment
  • Experience with quality development practices, including unit tests, build systems, peer reviews and automated functional tests 
  • Experience with SaaS or Enterprise Software development
  • Deep understanding of web application architectures (e.g. SPA, SSO, JWT, etc.)
  • Experience with containerization technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies, including Azure, AWS
  • Experience in insurance/agency domain is a plus
  • Experience in CRM solutions is a plus


For New York the estimated base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $192,000. The specific salary offered for this or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget.  At Swiss Re, we take a "total compensation approach" when making compensation decisions. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short-and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.
