About The Role


As an In Force Solutions Manager you have an opportunity to grow and develop as you lead the organization in growing and developing its own portfolio of in force solutions.  Responsibilities will focus on the development and delivery of solutions for permanent life insurance products, leveraging your experience in product design and management.  In this role you will have the opportunity to:

  • Enhance value and drive growth from in force portfolios – for both Swiss Re and our clients,
  • Create value-driven solutions for permanent products to enhance value for the policyholder and reduce the protection gap, and
  • Collaborate with a diverse cross-functional team – with a range of expertise (behavioral economics, data science, sales, costing, valuation, etc.) from around the globe – to deliver in force solutions in the US & Canada.


The team works across three main pillars of activity – develop, deliver, and originate – across which you'll have the opportunity to leverage your strengths and develop new skills.



  • Evaluate performance and business characteristics to propose new solutions
  • Find and implement ways of improving in force data and studies to enhance the prioritization of activities
  • Develop studies and/or build models in support of in-market solutions (e.g. for pricing framework and assumption updates, calibration of client modeling, etc.)
  • Establish tools and processes to evaluate the ongoing impact of implemented solution activities



  • Enhance/adjust models to incorporate the specifics of the solution being contemplated from both Swiss Re and the client's point of view; suggest tailored proposals based on findings
  • Communicate results of the modeling to both internal and external partners. Actively listen to effectively incorporate stakeholder feedback.
  • Effectively document processes and assumptions (e.g. for pricing framework and assumption updates, client documentation for regulatory needs, etc.)



  • Actively collaborate with Client Markets (sales) to ensure an understanding of client needs and appropriate matching of solution offerings; develop and deliver sales presentations
  • Build and strengthen each solution's value proposition in the context of client needs and market considerations (i.e. current and changing practices and regulations)
  • Leverage strong industry network and presence to generate excitement about Swiss Re's suite of In Force Solutions


About The Team

While the In Force Solutions team within the Americas is new, our mission and spirit are not – we use our sizeable in force portfolio to create new solutions for and with clients, with a focus on helping clients retain their policyholders and optimize their own in force portfolios. We defend our market leading position on our current solutions (Post Level Term Management, Principle-Based Reserving Experience Sharing) and are eager to develop new solutions in both the US and Canada to achieve ambitious goals within the Reinsurance strategy.


We continue to grow to achieve these aims. As such, we maintain flexibility in order to leverage the best out of all team members while encouraging each other to grow our skill sets through participation in activities not within our prior scope of experiences. We are experts, but we don't have all the answers. We are diverse and have diverse networks, which we effectively make use of to ideate, vet and deliver meaningful solutions to the market.


About You

  • Strong financial acumen and knowledge of L&H (re)insurance, as evidenced through successful prior experiences and/or achievement of industry designations
  • Understanding of source of earnings from life insurance perspective, particularly for permanent life insurance products (UL, VUL, IUL, etc.)
  • Significant depth of experience related to permanent product development and management (e.g. pricing, filing, illustration development, GAAP and tax implications, 7702, etc.), ideally in both the US & Canada.
