About the role


The Life Pricing Actuary role is a key position in the iptiQ Americas pricing organization.  This role will be responsible for supporting the pricing, modeling, filing and implementation of new Life Insurance products for iptiQ Americas, supporting profitability analysis and assumption development and other Life-related requests.  Responsibilities include:


  • Pricing Life Insurance protection products that meet the strategic and profitability targets of iptiQ Americas, balancing competitiveness with financial strength.
  • Building and maintaining Life pricing models used to analyze product profitability on a US Statutory, US GAAP, and Economic basis.
  • Developing, documenting, and testing pricing assumptions.
  • Contributing to the Product Development Approval Process by preparing pricing materials, providing pricing and market insights and supporting regulatory filings.
  • Developing profitability results for product/distributor campaigns and new partners.
  • Developing cash flows and profit analysis to be used for strategic plan development, management reports and other key reports to facilitate data driven decisions.
  • Perform analysis to assess the competitiveness of new and existing products.



About the team


The iptiQ Americas Pricing team is involved with all aspects of the pricing and product development process and collaborates with various areas of iptiQ and across Swiss Re to support the coordination, infrastructure and competences that are key to driving forward the business. 



As a Life Pricing Actuary with iptiQ Americas, you would have a unique and exciting opportunity to join the team in charge of running a US insurance business unit within a global company. You will be part of a diverse and highly driven team committed to delivering value-added solutions to a wide range of clients and providing life and health insurance to as many consumers as possible.



About You


  • Minimum four-year degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, economics, Finance, Computer Science or related field with proven mathematical skills and analytical ability.  Additional coursework in coding, data science or statistics a plus.
  • Over 5 years of experience with US Individual Life Insurance Pricing or related Life field; experience with Term and WL/Final Expense is strongly preferred.
  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (or near FSA)
  • Strong modeling capabilities with experience using MG-ALFA Modeling preferred.
  • Knowledge of projecting product cash flows and profitability metrics under statutory, US GAAP, and economic basis
  • Experience developing products, assumptions, Pricing models and Product Filings.
  • Able to work independently and deliver project results with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work across cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to details with strong sense of documentation and corporate governance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and the ability to influence others.  Must be able to develop working relationships to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to communicate and present effectively, clearly and transparently to a variety of audiences.
  • Open minded, trustworthy and enthusiastic
