About the Role:
 

Technological developments like autonomous cars and telematics solutions are having a big impact on Motor insurance. To play a substantial role in this and other innovative areas, a Product and Technology Hub has been set up within Swiss Re, building telematics products and developing new technologies, to shape future frontiers of mobility.

We are looking for highly motivated people who will take on the role of Motor Pricing Expert, joining a rapidly growing team of scientists and insurance professionals, responsible for developing product concepts and scoring capability for telematics-based policies and the automotive sector. You will have the opportunity to work with colleagues from various countries, background and experience who join efforts to develop innovative telematics solutions, in tight collaboration with internal professionals and clients.

Are you ready to take the challenge?

You will:

  • Analyze market information and develop premium comparison framework among different sources (internal/external);
  • Data cleansing and relational DB creation and validation;
  • Perform advanced cluster analysis, parameter testing and selection, risk premium modeling (with/without the support of multi factorial math/actuarial software);
  • Full management of a rating structure finalization (marginal/multi-way analysis, proposal definition and expected impact assessment in what-if scenarios);
  • Contribute in gamification scoring development;
  • Support novel products coverage analysis and acceptance criteria definition
  • Prove deep understanding and network in regulatory affairs especially with regards to product approval processes in key states, such as CA, WA, FL, NY;



About You:

  • Are focused on delivery time and quality
  • Are agile in adapting analysis techniques to manage different scenarios
  • Are keen on task prioritization and organization
  • Are able to work independently, under pressure and on multiple and conflicting priorities

Ideally, you have:

  • Master's in quantitative discipline, e.g. mathematics, actuarial science, physics, statistics, or computer science
  • 5 or more years of relevant quantitative and qualitative analysis experience (Ph.D. assumed as acquired experience)
  • Working experience in primary motor insurance market
  • Advanced use of statistical software (e.g. Matlab / R / SAS) and programming skills (e.g. SQL / VBA / Python)
  • Strong skills in statistics, forecasting/predictive analytics, multivariate modelling (e.g. GLM, GAM) with large and limited databases

Constitute a plus:

  • Knowledge in the fields of telematics and automotive
  • Proficiency in actuarial-statistical software (e.g. EMB, Pretium)
  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques and Could base computing (Hadoop / Spark)
  • High degree of flexibility and hands-on attitude
  • Experience to work in or closely with Digital Insurance Companies, TPAs and/or MGAs, Actuarial consultancy firm;
  • Ability to identify and address customer needs while keeping technical result in mind
  • Great teammate with communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in English is mandatory
