About the Role: 

We are looking for an individual with proven behavioral economics (BE) experience, strong project management and analytical capabilities to support our exciting growth goals in Americas Life & Health. 


This is a client facing role supporting our Americas Solutions teams. While part of the local team, you will support and be supported by Swiss Re's global BE community.


As part of this role you will be expected to: 


  • Work with cross functional teams and find creative – and scientifically informed - ways to deploy behavioral science to improve business outcomes (this could range from improving the design of insurance websites to driving engagement with health apps or training call centre staff to optimise customer interactions)
  • Present and interact with clients on a regular basis
  • Independently drive forward innovative field trials with insurance companies
  • Oversee the BE field trial pipeline, ensuring trials are delivered in a timely manner and that new trials are added at pace
  • Design and deliver other applications of behavioral economic research within a commercial environment. This could include lab-based trials or using behavioral science to inform the design of new insurance propositions
  • Support the preparation of marketing and communication materials 
  • Present at industry events
  • Demonstrate an active presence on social media with your insurance and BE network


You will be a key thought partner and challenger for our Solutions development.  Success in this role will be demonstrated through a combination of successful field trials – which lead to improved insurance outcomes and experiences for our clients / consumers and via partnership with businesses which create financial value for both Swiss Re and clients.

This is an exciting opportunity to support a key part of our Strategy growing our solutions offering alongside reinsurance services within the Americas Market.


This role sits within a matrix structure, reporting to the Head L&H Inforce Solutions and working within the Americas Solutions team.  The matrix further expands with our Head of Behavioral Research being an active part of the day to day management to ensure consistency of approach and a connection with our wider BE community.

You are not only familiar with, but excel at, working within a matrix structure, partnering with both local and global teams to draw out the best of both.  You will work in close partnership with our Global BE team to deliver a 'one team' approach, while gaining familiarity with our regional solutions. You can work independently and make decisions in the face of complexity, conflicting pressures and ambiguous circumstances.

Job requirements


  • Graduate or post-graduate qualification involving behavioral science (BA/BSc in Behavioral science, Economics, Psychology) and hands-on knowledge and experience designing, implementing and evaluating behavioral field trials.
  • Strong skills in statistics / data analytics.
  • Professional experience in client-facing roles
  • Excellent communication (written and presentation), analytical and teamwork skills.
  • Experience project managing research or other commercial projects, including prioritizing and time management of multiple tasks.
  • Experience in one of the following areas is highly desirable: design thinking; graphic or UX design; building tech-based applications of behavioral science
  • Confidence working with leading national and international experts both in academic and insurance settings.
  • Happy to travel, mostly within North America
