About the role 

Interning at iptiQ [ip-tih-q] will be a summer to remember! We're a fast-growing start-up, in need of a talented Marketing and Communications Intern to support our marketing and distribution teams. You'll wear a lot of hats (all different kinds!) but you'll gain invaluable real-life experience that will help you understand how to innovate, create and execute modern marketing practices for modern insurance offers -- quickly and effectively.

 

So, what areas will you learn and grow in wearing multiple hats:

 

  • Marketing – Supporting the tactical execution of key marketing initiatives by processing through a Market Resource Management (MRM) tool, including but not at all limited to: completing creative briefs to diverse stakeholder segments, designing/creating outlines for marketing collateral development; proofreading content (we need an eagle eye!); coordinating approval of pieces for business area feedback and compliance approvals; organizing final files in digital asset management (DAM) repository tool; relaying final, approved pieces to respective end user, and playing a role in seeking ways to always improve.
  • Communications – Support writing and proofreading communications for internal and external audiences through a variety of marketing online and offline channels, including email, e-newsletters, LinkedIn/social media, print, etc.
  • Campaign management – Support the coordination and trafficking of consumer marketing and advertising campaigns, including advertising collateral development, digital content creation, and social media strategy/execution.
  • Copywriting – Support writing copy for critical B2B and B2C business and consumer audiences, and aligning that copy with respective brand voice, messaging goals and designated call-to-actions for the applicable audiences.
  • UX and Design – Support relaying UX requests to our visual designers; prioritizing (and re-prioritizing) key projects; addressing required changes/feedback through the design and development process in a timely manner; funnelling pieces to appropriate business areas for reviews/approvals; and uploading/organizing final files in MRM/DAM tools. And hey, if you have some experience with the Adobe Creative Suite (think InDesign, Photoshop, and or Illustrator), we could also use your help with designing social media assets and squares for LinkedIn conferences, events and promotions, too!

About you 

  • Bachelor's or Masters degree in marketing, communications, or something else that is making you say, "Wow, this role is totally for me!"
  • Strong marcomm interest, and a willingness to learn
  • Medium/advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Adobe Creative Suite knowledge (Photoshop, InDesign, and or Illustrator) a plus – but not required
  • Familiarity with DAM/MRM or other asset management tools a plus, but not required
  • Knowledge of financial services/insurance a plus, but not required
  • Notoriously eagle eye; you would describe yourself as "attentive to detail"
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Pro-active, flexible, enthusiastic, confident and open-minded
  • "Go-getter" with a sense of humor
  • Comfortable with (and thrives on) a fast-paced environment, change, and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written English
  • Independent, and always gives 110% to individual and team contributors
  • Proficient in mobile coffee orders (we're kidding!) – but living on/loving coffee, a BIG plus
