About the Role:

You will be part of the Magnum North American team within the Life and Health Products Solutions unit. This role helps identify a client's needs and oversees the delivery of the product and service within the context of the Magnum platform/solution.  Magnum forms a key part of our risk management strategy, enabling our clients to benefit from optimized operational processes and to provide the foundation for future growth opportunities. This is an exciting time with Magnum as we are experiencing significant new client activity and developing and commercializing new and innovative UW solutions.

 

Reporting to the Head of Magnum, North America, you will be part of a team dedicated to delivering Magnum and associated UW solutions. You will have an important role in managing and establishing processes to provide consistently high levels of customer service in a cost-effective manner to all phases of the project (pre and post implementation).  You will work closely with colleagues globally to develop and apply best practices in marketing support, client training, rule building and quality assurance testing.

 

The role includes involvement in individual implementation projects and on-going account management responsibility ensuring that our clients are getting the most out of our Magnum solution; working closely with the Centre of Competence and Regional teams and the main responsibilities include oversight and management of:

 

  • Client training:
  • Working as part of the implementation team to provide clients with documentation & guidance on their testing and to investigate issues reported by clients.
  • Leading client training workshop sessions for business and underwriting design leveraging the Magnum components
  • The role will also involve some aspects of rule analysis and development
  • Client liaison and data analytics:
  • Support the continuing development of the Magnum product including the core software functionality and the generic underwriting rules, by feeding back to the central teams based on clients needs. This will involve liaising with both global Magnum colleagues and our external technology partners.
  • Manage key aspects of the client implementation or project and negotiate priorities to ensure the system is delivered according to the agreed specifications and deadlines.
  • Manage the analysis of client data and underwriting outcomes to enhance rule base performance and expand the use of Magnum
  • QA development & execution:
  • Working from the specifications to develop and execute test plans that ensure the correct performance of the system
  • Accountable for Rulebase QA sign off for new implementations and active client projects
  • Building, maintaining and contributing to the development of industry recognized testing methodologies, processes and best practices.
  • Identifying, raising & prioritizing issues and tracking these to a successful resolution
  • Leading and managing User Acceptance Testing cycles for software and Rulebase releases

 

There will be a requirement for some periods of on-site work in client offices and travel within the North America region, plus occasional international travel to meet with global Magnum colleagues

About You:

  • 3-5 years life underwriting experience
  • Strong business analysis and the ability to prepare and develop clear documentation including test plans and systems specifications.                          
  • Strong Analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail     
  • Good knowledge of life insurance risk products sold in North America
  • Self-directed learner, who prefers a hands on approach to acquiring skills
  • Experience working with automated underwriting systems considered a benefit
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal including: delivering difficult messages, giving public presentations, leading workshops, negotiating/prioritizing resources, and providing demonstrations to clients
  • Show true teamwork, have a flexible and team-based approach to working with the ability to work independently and take personal accountability
  • Experience with the deployment of new technologies
  • Familiarity with data analytics / reporting tools an advantage
  • Effective coaching and mentoring skills including previous experience of delivering training
  • Proficient IT skills including the ability to use some
    of the advanced features of Word/Excel/Access
  • Willing to learn and have a drive for professional development
  • A flexible approach to travel is required
