About the Role

As Casualty Underwriting Audit Leader, you will own and lead our reinsurance client audit activity in the United States. You will develop the format, content and reporting framework and ensure it runs effectively. Your main responsibilities include:
 

  • Support Casualty underwriters by enabling and facilitating a consistent process for planning, execution, reporting and scoring of client underwriting audit activity
  • Ensure all underwriting audit activity is consistently planned, reported and scored by underwriters
  • Support execution of underwriting audits by participating as an auditor
  • Review audit findings from underwriters to quality check consistency and create consolidated market trend and client quality reporting
  • Own development and continuous improvements in client underwriting audit processes, procedures and tools to effectively respond to business and external customer needs
  • Facilitate and align cross-functional audit activities, including claims and transactional audits
  • Organize training and knowledge transfer within the underwriting, claims and client management communities based on findings from audit activities

 

About the Team

We are a team of more than 40 underwriters and actuaries servicing all Swiss Re's Casualty Reinsurance Treaty business in North America. Our underwriting hub is organized in three underwriting teams, an Actuarial Analytics team and a Data Analytics function. One of the key enablers to maintain and strengthen underwriting quality and client interaction is a consistent framework for all of our client audit activity by Casualty Underwriting and other functions.

 

To bring this vision to life we are looking for a strong talent to shape and drive format and content of our underwriting audit activity in the United States.


About You

  • You have 7-10 years of professional experience in underwriting, primary underwriting experience preferred
  • You have strong understanding of business and loss drivers in US Casualty
  • You have a strong sense of accountability and execution
  • You are very experienced in MS Excel, Word and Power Point
  • You are able to develop key conclusions from detailed underwriting audit observations
  • You are able to translate audit results into actions that will improve business performance
  • You are a strong presenter to all types of audience, including senior management
  • You are a strong communicator and standout colleague
  • You can achieve results by influencing others
  • You are able to travel domestically as needed (post-Covid)
  • You have strong organizational skills and enjoy audit work!
