About the Role

 

The Sourcing Manager (SM) US & Canada plans and leads Sourcing initiatives across all categories of spend within the assigned countries in the US & Canada cross-divisionally. The SM develops US & Canada strategy as part of the wider Regional Sourcing strategy while being aligned to the global Category Strategies. The SM proactively leads sourcing projects, Sourcing plans and demand management, as well as leads specific supplier performance and innovation activities across all categories of spend within the assigned countries in the US & Canada; the Sourcing Manager is recognized as the lead for advisory to our Business Partners.

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the bottom-up aggregation of all data across divisions and countries to inform the top-down target setting process, reconciling the "gaps" between bottom-up and top-down targets and identifying initiatives required to close any such disparities
  • Delivering annual financial targets
  • Overall delivery of the KPI and Balanced Scorecard targets
  • Consolidating, sharing and effective collaboration of Vendor, market, category and internal business data and information to develop Regional Strategy in alignment with global Category Strategies
  • Monitoring compliance as well as enforcing Targeted Standard on Global Sourcing and the associated Buying Guidance and Vendor Management Guidance
  • Delivering quality processes to allow for efficient service delivery that meets or exceeds business partner requirements
  • The implementation and communication of the final Regional Strategy aligned with global Category Strategies and Annual Plans to relevant business partners
  • Execution and application of vendor management aligned to the Vendor Relationship Management Framework and Global Sourcing Services and Process Landscape
  • Developing the Regional Sourcing network while ensuring effective collaboration across Global Sourcing
  • Managing relationships with key busines partners
  • Taking ownership of your own career, performance, and development
  • Ensure continual improvement is active in the Regional Sourcing team – active part in CI initiatives, engage team members in CI initiatives
  • Ensuring the resources, information and tools are in place for project execution, providing project management and implementation support where required
  • Create, apply, complete and review of major contracts
  • Providing input into the development of appropriate Playbook

 

About the Team

 

We are The Regional Sourcing Team; we are accountable for end-to-end sourcing activities across all categories of spend cross-divisionally in the Americas region and development of Regional Strategy in alignment with global Category Strategies. Along with its Regional Business Partners and through established Sourcing networks, our team executes the strategy to deliver value, improve quality, optimize cost, and mitigate risk in the supply chain.

 

About you

 

Are you passionate about leading Sourcing strategy and work along with Business Partners and Vendors? If so, you can bring this passion to our team to pursue altogether our objectives and work in the biggest market of Americas region and the second most important globally. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of the Sourcing strategy in US and Canada and lead for advisory to our Business Partners.

  • Bachelor’s degree required at a minimum; in fields such as business administration, finance, law or a scientific or technical field. Strong preference for CIPS or similar professional qualification Ideally
  • You have ten (10) years of Sourcing/Procurement experience in the insurance, re-insurance, or financial services industry
  • You will demonstrate proficiency in executing on pragmatic solutions in collaboration with the Business Partners to advance business priorities
  • You will be required to communicate effectively with Business Partners and external suppliers.
  • You shall demonstrate behaviors consistent with Swiss Re's leadership imperatives with a focus on driving sustainable performance and continuous improvement
