About The Team:

This role reports to the Head of Compliance Corporate Solutions. This person is responsible for managing the Americas Client Compliance team for the Corporate Solutions Business Unit. 

 

About The Role:

Leadership

  • Plan for and manage FTEs and skills/competency of team
  • Manage, coach and develop talent within regional team
  • Plan, progress and monitor delivery of Compliance Plan for the respective activities
  • Provide updates on relevant and material compliance risk topics for senior management, legal entity and Business Unit reporting within Americas Region
  • Promote and participate in strategic planning and execution, including improvements to the Compliance Programme and Compliance Risk Assessment process

 

Corporate Solutions Compliance Expertise

  • Establish relationships with senior management in Corporate Solutions Americas
  • Perform detailed compliance risk assessments for the purposes of developing a Compliance risk assessment and heat map and allocate planning resources appropriately
  • Assess and report compliance risk exposure of region and legal entities
  • Compliance reporting to relevant Americas Corporate Solutions and board and management-level committees
  • Provide compliance enabling guidance to clients (implementation of policies, best practice processes and controls, business decision evaluations related to initiatives and projects, and project support related to compliance matters)
  • Monitor regulatory changes to ensure requirements are captured through Compliance monitoring tool and adhered to and adequately mitigated
  • Support business led compliance risk assessments
  • Develop and maintain local policies in coordination with global policy framework and support development of global policies/standards
  • Develop and deliver training in coordination with global team
  • Monitor processes & controls that address compliance risks in coordination with the global framework
  • Act as a point of contact for local regulators for exams, investigations, reviews, in coordination with Regulatory Risk Management
  • Receive, identify and report issues, losses & incidents and provide remediation recommendations
  • Perform investigations in coordination with the Assurance team
  • Coordinate with Regulatory Risk Management and Legal
  • Serve as formal Officer for regulated and unregulated entities as required
  • Support for the Coordinated Assurance Framework working in close collaboration with Group Internal Audit and Risk Management

 

About You:

 

  • University or equivalent qualification
  • Fluent in English, other languages a plus
  • Minimum 8 years compliance, legal, audit or risk management experience, preferably in a financial services company
  • Knowledge of insurance/reinsurance business
  • Solid understanding of control processes and systems
  • Strong ability to identify risk and assess process controls
  • Strong project management and analytical skills
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Prior experience with team management a plus
