About the Team:

As part of the SRCS' Innovative Risk Solutions ('IRS') team position holder will be responsible for the transaction management and monitoring of the global Innovative Risk Solutions (IRS) deal portfolio, reporting to the Global Head Innovative Risk Solutions.  Innovative product offerings include tailor-made re/insurance, captive solutions, parametric covers, structured fronting, run-off and many others.


About the Role:



  • Responsibilities will include the day-to-day transaction management, the monitoring of structural features of specific transactions, the implementation of appropriate transaction management and risk mitigation strategies, the early identification of problems, the identification of remedies available to the SR carrier to mitigate those problems, the quantification and tracking of various types of risk within those transactions.
  • Additionally, the position holder will provide support for renewals and new transactions for the Innovative Risk Solutions team.
  • Transaction management for approximately 100 existing deals. This will include day to day transaction management, monitoring transaction performance versus plan, the credit standing of counterparties, ensure contractual obligations are met designed to protect Swiss Re’s interests.
  • Reviewing legal and financial documentation pre and post-closing a transaction.
  • Early identification of troubled transactions, the formulation of a strategy to protect the company’s financial position, and the implementation of such strategy.
  • Formulation of corrective measures on under-performing transactions, and work with client contacts/structurers to implement.
  • Preparing of frequent portfolio reviews and updates to management.
  • Structuring support for the IRS team for renewals and new transactions.
  • Provide regular updates to management and stakeholders.
  • Respond to various adhoc information requests from internal or external stakeholders with regard to specific characteristics of transactions, such as downgrading triggers, particular structural features, collateral requirements, etc.
  • Interaction with other internal/external parties or units, e.g. U/W, Sales, Legal, Claims, Reserving, Actuarial, Transaction Accounting and Finance.
  • Act as adviser to IRS deal teams.
  • Establishing contact with client and maintaining a client relationship on specific deals.

  • University degree in business, finance, science or law, or equivalent education.
