We are looking for a risk engineer to work in our Property business segment in United States/Canada and provide technical advice to property underwriters especially with regards to Swiss Re’s Mining Underwriting business (surface/ underground & ore/coal mining and processing facilities, smelting/refining). Experience in the utilities business (power generation) would be a plus. You will advise our underwriters on risk quality, loss estimates, capacity allocation and loss prevention measures for large mining and utilities accounts.

About the Role:

The main task is advising our underwriters on risk quality and loss estimates in order to achieve a preferable risk selection. • Service oriented mindset
  • Enjoy working in a small team - a good team player approach is paramount
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Capacity to work under pressure, multi-tasking
  • High analytical capacity and focus on details
