About the Role
P&C and L&H accounting & closing for a subset of P&L accounts (underwriting technical). Full ownership of assigned units, deals or processes incl. sub-ledger entries, for technical business under relevant valuations (nominal, US GAAP, EVM). Ensures closing timelines are met and policies and controls are closely adhered to. The role also includes operational activities such as making entries, ensure accuracy of financials on a portfolio basis, and reporting key drivers of change against prior year and planned results.


About the Team
Finance Reinsurance is undertaking the next step in the evolution of how we deliver services. This includes moving towards more globally consistent processes and increasingly the centralisation of teams – notably strengthening the Finance hub in Bangalore. The Regional teams of Americas and Asia are building a new joint team to act as the centre of excellence for technical close and regional reporting activities. This team will take on end to end responsibility of technical closing and also enhance our analytics and reporting deliverables.


About You

  • 3 to 7 years of relevant work experience
  • University degree in a Finance/Accounting or Science/Engineering field
  • Assumes full responsibility for complex tasks processes or entities; manages stakeholders relevant to the area of responsibility independently; reviews and/or coordinates work of others; contributes to projects or leads smaller projects
  • Able to handle complex and confidential information appropriately awareness of risks in the area of responsibility; executes controls as designed; contributes to process and control improvements
  • Proposes and implements changes / improvements to tasks and processes in own team or across teams
  • Self-motivated and independent, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines; applies analytical skills to resolve complex / unusual / ad hoc queries
  • Strong communication (English) written and spoken; steers communication across teams and locations and shows strong collaboration
  • Demonstrates commercial awareness in daily service provision and projects; challenges non-standard processes and strives for efficient solutions that effectively meet client need; understands the business context and adapts deliverables to changing business requirements
