About the role

The candidate will be expected to, on an ongoing and ad hoc basis, identify key portfolio risks and concentrations and proactively highlight names associated with developing credit situations and notable exposure. Additionally, the candidate will be required to understand risk calculations associated with key products as they are developed; and effectively and consistently communicate the methodology to the business units. Responsibilities will include the periodic reviews of selected obligors with an eye towards assigning an internal rating and associated credit limits, day-to-day management of reporting of key risks to senior management for certain products, contribution to the advancement of strategic initiatives identified by the Global Head of Credit and Financial Risk Management. The candidate is expected to establish effective relationships with key business unit personnel as well as other risk management groups.

About the team

The candidate will be a member of the Credit Risk Management team within Swiss Re Group's Financial Risk Management Department and be responsible for credit risk management associated with a portfolio of global corporate names. To be domiciled in Bangalore, the role requires the ability to effectively communicate with members of the Financial Risk Management team and business units globally, notably in London, Zurich and Armonk. The position will work with other members of the Corporates Group to actively identify, review, monitor and manage credit risk associated with a suite of traditional products across global banks, as well as risks associated with structured transactions related insurance products as necessary.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

1. Candidate preferably an MBA/CA approximately 3 to 5 years' financial analysis and/or risk management experience, preferably in the credit department of a primary commercial or investment bank or insurance company;

2. Familiarity with credit products available to corporates, understanding of the insurance industry a plus;

3. Strong financial analysis skills, including the ability to quickly develop an understanding of credit risks inherent in financial products;

4. Flexible approach to work assignments; and Ability to manage diverse projects and tasks simultaneously and the confidence and initiative to take decisions often with limited information and guidance and within tight deadlines.
