About the role & team

We are the Group Portfolio Underwriting team within Swiss Re Institute. We are a very dynamic and diverse unit, and we find teamwork, transparency and agility very important. Sharing these values is a key selection criterion for us. Our unit is spread globally; your role will be based in Bangalore. We take an independent view of our book of business and shape Swiss Re's underwriting capital allocation to outperform our competitors.

Our further responsibilities include:

  • fostering an underwriting investor mentality group-wide
  • developing forward-looking views, data driven insights into markets and risk portfolios
  • defining the Group underwriting portfolio strategy, embodied in the Target Liability Portfolio
  • establishing a holistic steering and costing framework of underwriting across the group

As a new member of our team, you will contribute to Swiss Re's out-performance through outstanding underwriting portfolio management. You will perform analysis on internal and external data to determine impact of trends and of strategic options on the Swiss Re portfolio. You will join forces with colleagues in Swiss Re Institute and the Business Units to create deeper, impactful portfolio insights. Furthermore, you will extend our unified data model on a state-of-the-art data platform.

  • You have programming experience in a modern language e.g. Python, SQL or equivalent.

  • We expect excellent oral and written English skills; additional language skills are a plus.

We are looking forward to your application!
