Position objectives and position summary (short and precise definition of most important activities)
- The role will report to the Head ASIA & ANZ Valuation based in Bangalore, with a secondary dotted line report to the Corporate Actuary based in ASIA.
- Although based in Bangalore. The successful candidate will be required to work very closely with the team in ASIA.
- Role may also require to handle People management responsibility of 3+ people working on similar reporting requirements
- Some of the key responsibility will be :
- International Financial Reporting Standard ("IFRS") 17 valuation dry run :
- Lead the IFRS 17 valuation dry runs for year 2021s to 2022 and assist in the IFRS 17 implementation in year 2022/2023 for ASIA & ANZ Market.
- Liaise with Global/Asia IFRS 17 project team and local finance teams to address concerns throughout the project and dry runs.
- Deliver quarterly valuation results for ASIA business to the relevant Reporting Actuaries, ownership of other reserving tasks such as capital calculations, assumption setting/ testing, Sensitivities, Recapture of business etc.
- Projects related to ASIA business such as System Process and Landscape developments, Moses model improvements, data flow automation, IFRS accounting standards implementation etc.
- Management related activities for people reporting such as Goal Setting, Carer guidance, performance feedback etc
- Contribute towards development of people & BM unit in Bangalore.
- Induct new business and large deals on valuation landscape, along with providing signoff on Segmentation.
- Interface with:
- Finance Planning on Earnings Analysis and reserving deliverables
- Technical Accounting (TA) on Portfolio Management.
- Moses MCOE on model maintenance, & Improvement.
- Products team on Experience Studies & Transactions on boarding.
- Valuation landscape management with IT and other relevant functions.

Main tasks/activities/responsibilities
- Deliver USGAAP, LOCAL STAT, LOCAL TAX, Swiss Stat, IFRS & EVM reserving analysis for ASIA business.
- Ensure compliance with documented methodologies and bases.
- Impact validation of updated assumptions.
- On-board new business and Deals on valuation landscape, validate results & prepare documentation.
- Moses model testing and development of new functionalities and new product features with MoSes MCoE team.
- Work closely with team in ASIA.
- Provide support to Global Projects.
- Contribute to improved quality and efficiency of reserving process.
- Development of L&H landscape for ASIA region.
- Provide proper training (technical and systems) to junior and responsible to develop the them
- Support in training activities to upskill junior members of the team

About ASIA Team
ASIA L&H Valuation team in Bangalore majority supports Individual Business valuation and landscape migration projection. The team currently have close to 15+ resources supporting different line of business/ project streams across all valuation reporting.
