About the role:

The core activities will include:

  • Operation of the modelling tools - used for the construction of the financial plans, supporting the top-down planning and for updating existing plan based on business updates - in all relevant valuations and required dimensions
  • Drive multi-valuation based what if analysis
  • Provide ad-hoc financial assessment and analysis on the business cases for plan e.g. portfolios, large transactions etc.
  • Ensure execution of controls for planning and scenario modelling, evidenced and that issues are raised appropriately
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of the planning infrastructure (proposals for improvements, specification, testing etc) in close collaboration with business and IT
  • Work closely with IT to ensure that the planning infrastructure is initialized correctly
  • Contribute to the standardizing and automation of the plan production
  • Ensure manuals and documentation are kept up to date
  • Support the creation of management meeting material and documentation related to plan and scenarios
  • Partnering with the Line of Business Controller, Underwriting, Reserving, Investment, Funding, Treasury and other functions to have complete Reinsurance BU Plan
  • Contribute to maintaining the standards and governance around plan and performance and to the continued development


About the team:


The position is part of the Financial Modelling team within FP&A department and reports into the Head of Financial Modelling team Bangalore. We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst who takes complete ownership of the US GAAP/IFRS financial planning production process for Reinsurance Business Unit, continuously looks out for modelling improvements and who serves as a business partner on all related matters to the wider organization .

This position offers a unique opportunity to enhance your understanding of the key financial performance drivers for Reinsurance business. This role has significant exposure to senior leaders and the greater Finance community.


About you:

  • Overall 10 - 14 years of working experience actuarial or finance functions within (re-) insurance
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
  • Qualified Actuary/CFA/CA from acknowledged society an advantage / alternatively significant experience with financial modelling
  • Intellectual curiosity with eagerness to improve modelling

Specific technical skills

  • Very good understanding of US GAAP/ IFRS and EVM (or similar economic based accounting frameworks in insurance)
  • Actuarial and modelling skills would be advantageous.
  • Excellent understanding of financial management and corporate finance principles
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office tools, affinity to technology and programming
