About the role:

The role will be to respond to development issues arising from the updates being made to the accounting system infrastructure, understanding the underlying issues, raising change requests and resolving them by coordinating with the business users and the development team.

This position is based in Bangalore. However, liaison will be required with the GIR teams in Bratislava and Kansas City and IT teams in Bratislava, New York, Kansas City, and London.


  • A strong hands-on knowledge of accounting for fixed income securities, equities, derivatives, and other investment related vehicles
  • A reasonable technical knowledge of IT to the level necessary to facilitate interaction with IT developers on the specification and development of solutions
  • Hands-on experience of investment /finance system implementations and be proactive, detailed, and focused
  • Good communication skills to interact with internal partners to review release issues in various environments – QA, UAT and Production
  • Ability to manage and contribute during all phases of requirements gathering, with attention to detail
  • Research, analyze, test and sign-off of new financial security products
  • Understand end-to-end processes and initiate improvements in the process by implementing standard methodologies
  • Preparation of high-quality business requirements and functional specifications
  • Participation and coordination of projects and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Test software code releases in various environments and reporting on issues
  • Track and report on software defects, enhancement requests, and release statuses
  • Perform project specific tasks as the need arises


About the team:

The Senior Business Analyst is a member of the Global Investment Reporting ("GIR") Business Analysis Asia team. The successful candidate will act as a liaison between IT and GIR Finance teams to provide development support and business analysis for various investment reporting platform applications.

The person will work on different workstream (projects), which will support Swiss Re's investment accounting and reporting-based requirements such as IFRS9, US GAAP, Solvency II, Economic Value Management, Group Finance Data Model, SAP General Ledger Roll-in etc. and complete their implementation. The Senior Business Analyst will also carry out analysis of test results and provide the project coordinator, IT and BAU teams with feedback and development suggestions and updates.


About you:

  • University degree, preferably Accounting, Finance/Banking/Investments
  • ~8 years of work experience in Business Analysis with consistent track record of successful project execution
  • Good knowledge of financial instruments including and financial markets
  • Familiarity and understanding of multi-valuation concept (US GAAP, Solvency II and IFRS9) with respect to investment products
  • System implementation and change testing experience
  • Experience in at least one of the Agile frameworks, such as Scrum, Kanban etc. and knowledge of Agile Project Management tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • Hands-on experience in SQL and Excel
  • Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft tools, such as, Power BI, Power Pivot, Power Query
  • Works efficiently in the face of ambiguity or uncertainty, readily adapts to different ways of doing things
  • High level of interpersonal skills along with strong analytical and conceptual thinking
  • Time management skills and consistency to achieve set timelines
  • Good communication and presentations skills, both verbal and written, in interaction with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work independently and willingness to learn new technologies


  Following skills a plus:

  • Knowledge of investment banking STP systems such as Aladdin, Hiport, and Murex
  • Basic understanding of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools and techniques
  • Intermediate-level knowledge of any of the object-oriented languages (e.g., Python/Java/R etc.)
  • Understanding of different applications and functionalities of Stargate ecosystem
