Objective of Role


To support Life & Health Actuarial team, and to provide advice and technical expertise in respect of product initiatives throughout Life & Health business of Swiss Re in Singapore.



Key Accountabilities


  • Support the pricing actuaries in Experience Analysis treaties for the Southeast Asia market; initial responsibilities will focus on Experience analysis and support pricing review of Open Treaty Reviews (i.e. existing treaties open for new business)
  • Support ES requirements for the region if any.
  • Provide support in inputs through analysis and maintenance of pricing Terms of Trade;
  • Support the Southeast Asia and Asia pricing actuaries in any local/regional projects as required.
  • Work effectively with a cross-functional team of experts from client markets, underwriting, and claims towards assessing the trends/risks associated with a treaty or opportunity.
  • Provide technical, research and project management input for product development initiatives and pricing policy across all business lines in the Life & Health space;
  • Work effectively with a cross-functional team of experts from client markets, underwriting, and claims towards assessing the risks associated with a particular opportunity;



Key Skills & Knowledge


  • Excellent technical knowledge in all areas of Experience Analysis, pricing and product development;
  • Fundamental understanding and knowledge of the Southeast Asian (preferred) insurance and reinsurance industry and knowledge of the main products and services offered by various insurance and reinsurance companies;
  • Knowledge of actuarial L&H modelling and data analytical software's where SAS and R would be preferable.
  • Ability to use sound actuarial judgement in a commercial environment;
  • Good understanding of relevant actuarial best practices;
  • Organization, prioritization and planning skills.



Candidate Requirements


  • Strong technical insurance/reinsurance experience, with 1-2 years actuarial experience, ideally on Southeast Asian markets
  • Experience in Experience analysis, actuarial product design and pricing (including application of any actuarial pricing tools).
  • Good actuarial exam progress with membership from the major actuarial institutes;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
