About the Role
This position will become part of APAC Carrier Reporting team within Corporate Solutions Finance. You will play an important role in preparation of regulatory and governing bodies financial reports by utilizing your existing accounting experience and your outstanding analytical skills with the insurance knowledge of the broader organisation
Your main responsibilities
- Support the local onshore finance team to perform general ledger closing activities for some Asian branches. This includes but not limited to, preparation of supporting calculations for manual journal entries, data checks and account reconciliations, posting journals, finalizing the Trial Balance, preparing analytics for review
- Prepare working papers, complete and submit quarterly regulatory returns (eg. statements of Financial Position, Profit & Loss, Change in Equity and Fund Solvency, Capital Adequacy Requirement)
- Prepare, complete and submit other supplementary returns (eg. statistical returns, indirect tax returns like GST/stamp duties/levies, insurance association surveys)
- Assist with the preparation of the Annual Statutory Financial Statements and Notes to the Accounts where applicable
- Coordinate with different teams and colleagues to ensure all inputs are received within stipulated time to facilitate timely closing and reporting process
- Perform data quality checks for certain system reports, templates and modelling, performing required reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Help in creating business performance summary reporting to regional CFO
- Help in preparation of audit schedules, breakdown of account balances and extraction of supporting documents for KPMG, Internal Audit or Income Tax purposes
- Supporting team for SAP GL roll-out as well as in other projects
About You
- You come with a minimum of 8 years of experience in an Accounting and Reporting function.
- Having knowledge of preparation of financial statements and reports are strongly recommended
- Accounting degree/diploma (ACCA, CA, CPA) or Graduation or MBA from reputed institute is a plus
- Strong knowledge of insurance and reinsurance products advantageous
- Understanding of IFRS, US GAAP and/or local statutory principles is a plus
- Strong analytical skills and ability to deliver quality output to short deadlines and handle details without losing sight of the bigger picture
- Ability to work remotely and with people across locations, time zones and cultures
- Self-starter, able to work independently and flexible to stretch during QTR close as required
- You are proficient in English – verbal and written communication
