About the role:

  • Support and implementation of the Vendor Risk Management framework and approach
  • Support and implement a Vendor Risk Monitoring
  • Scan for, monitor, and review new and significantly changing risk requirements
  • Incorporate emerging risks into Group Procurement's overall risk profile, approach, and segmentation strategy
  • Strengthen and monitor operational risk management while developing and conveying an approach to strategic risk management
  • Liase and coordinate vendor risk management with Swiss Re risk owners and supporting functions
  • Coordinate the implementation and updating of contract wording to reflect requirements related to new and emerging risks when applicable
  • Establish a monitoring mechanism for compliance with the framework
  • Ensuring the right stakeholders are involved, engaged and connected for support the framework
  • Providing Procurement Enablement with input into the development of the procurement data architecture and the vendor management system to support the framework and to further enhance the digitalisation of vendor management activities.
  • Continuously seek for improvement opportunities to our Risk Management and Due Diligence framework
  • Act as ambassador and promote the framework and process and as well as supporting stakeholders to ensure compliance
  • Collaborate and work cross functional and with key stakeholders and subject matter experts from the assurance functions
  • Collaborate and work across the Procurement categories


About the team:

The Procurement Risk Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining, a comprehensive and differentiating Vendor Risk Management and Due Diligence framework. This role and framework will help to manage existing vendor risks, assess new vendors’ risks and to on-board new emerging risks into the risk portfolio to create a complete oversight of Swiss Re's risks exposure with regards to its vendors.


About you:








Bachelor’s degree required at a minimum; in fields such as business administration, finance, law or a scientific or technical field. Strong preference for PMP or similar professional qualification.


Ideally, the Candidate will have ten (10) years of Sourcing/Procurement experience in the insurance, re-insurance or financial services industry with a strong understanding of the supply chain third party risks. Candidate will demonstrate proficiency in executing on pragmatic solutions in collaboration with the business to advance business priorities. Candidate will be required to communicate effectively with Business partners and external suppliers.  Candidate shall demonstrate behaviours consistent with Swiss Re's leadership imperatives with a focus on driving sustainable performance and continuous improvement.
