About the Role:

Reporting to the Head L&H Experience Studies (ES) Asia, the candidate will be responsible to lead a division within L&H ES Asia team and using analytical capabilities leading to product development. Key work areas are -

  • Portfolio analysis for Asia reinsured business
  • Providing experience insights emerging for Pricing and Valuation  
  • Comparing A/E for businesses dealing in mortality, critical illness, hospital cash, disability income

 

Major responsibilities:

  • Understanding product designs, pricing philosophy and target population experience to analyse evolving experience for treaties
  • Enable and participate in business decision-making process by providing data-based recommendations with an understating of data reliability measures, confidence intervals etc
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to facilitate OTRs, Terms of Trades and Large Transactions, be able to explain the ES results in terms of theory and rational behind suitable age/rate labels and application of appropriate rates
  • Providing business steering analytics to the cross functional teams such as Costing accuracy/attribution analyses, KPIs, Fact books etc
  • Understand financial implications of experience variance and support reconciling the assumption changes and impact on financial metrics viz. CM1
  • Data management - visualize systems and tools, cloud platforms in order to manage large and complex datasets, and lead the team to work on these

Drive the data intensive research projects, incidence model calibration (fitting rate curves), using GLM techniques, provide analytics to evolving CI portfolio

 

About the Team:

15-member team located in Bangalore, working closely with the Asia pricing and valuation across locations.

 

About you:

  • Experience of 5-7 years in life actuarial business
  • Proven record of managing 5-10 members team, this will include day to day team management, guide and coach team members to achieve team goals
  • Progress in actuarial exams (near to qualification or qualified will be a plus)
  • Understanding of Life & Health (Re)insurance domain
  • Experience in Analytical, Automation and Process designing skills
  • Strong communication skills as this role involves interaction with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong technical skills in SAS/VBA/Python/R (preferred SAS and R)
  • Expertise in using MS Office for modelling, documentation and reporting
