About the role:
As a member of the CoE in Group Operations Business Services, you will develop an impactful data and integration architecture in your product area. You will actively drive the implementation and adoption of the Swiss Re's data strategy to make better use of our systems and data. You will also work closely with product teams in their journey of migrating to public cloud platforms. If you are an IT and data evangelist who enjoys creating a meaningful data architecture direction and would like to work with a variety of partners all over the globe, this role is for you!
Your tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Support the design and maintenance of data models and data standards for data objects used in the Group Operations Business Services product area like Logical Data Model (LDM) and Analytical Data Model (ADM).
  • Architect, design, hands-on engineering and creation of proof of concepts for our product solutions 
  • Design, develop and maintain scalable data transformation pipelines to consolidate and relate data sets from various sources 
  • Manage good technical and functional understanding of the solutions, including integrations and ensure effective knowledge management is in place. Forecast, communicate and mitigate risks. 
  • Identify, prioritize and propose relevant data topics for our area.
  • Assess data architecture innovation and features in Azure 
  • You will also work closely with product teams being a key part of their journey in migrating to public cloud platforms
  • Foster oneness through facilitating a cross-area data modelers and data architects community
  • Liaise, align and partner with all relevant bodies, outsourcing partners, colleagues and SMEs as well as related functions
  • Coach, and potentially manage technology experts in your product area

About you:

  • Masters or Ph.D. in computer science, engineering, natural sciences or comparable education/qualification
  • 8+ years of working in developing Enterprise/Information Architecture or similar role with a deep understanding of data architecture, master data management, metadata management, data warehousing, document management and related fields
  • Strong communication and consulting skills to drive solution finding and being able to explain complex topics in a simple and understandable manner
  • Ability to understand the value of data in the context of the business unit and understand the impacts of data on current and future business models
  • Motivated to get into new technologies like
  • Palantir
  • SaaS source systems like Coupa
  • Experience in Data Visualization platforms like Power BI  
  • Proven experience with integration technologies like REST APIs, file based and event based data exchange integration methodologies 
  • Proven experience in building interfaces between (Cloud/SaaS) solutions using ETL/ELT tools
  • Hands-on experience with Data modelling & physical modelling across structured & unstructured data storage and analytics (Azure Data Lake, Python, PySpark)
  • Ability to lead the technical and functional design of the products' data & integration landscape
  • Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to quality and timely delivery 
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including clear articulation of technical topics to a non-technical audience 
  • An Azure Data Engineer or Data Science Associate Certificate is a plus.
