About the role

As System Configurator for our Underwriting Digital Platform you will be responsible for the designing, implementation and maintenance of Majesco Products/Projects. You will be working very closely with the business partners and external solution vendors.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Develop functional design and technical specification. Review and understand specifications, use cases, and requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve issues.
  • Work closely with our business and technical partners to ensure the requirements are valid and ensure the functionalities are developed according to standards.
  • Hands-on application development to support the current and target process.
  • Collaborate with global cross functional team in building customer-centric software products.
  • Analyze existing software implementations to identify areas of improvement and provide deadline estimates for implementing new features.
  • Understand key daily reporting elements needed for business partners.
  • Review defects and host defect triage calls when required. Provide direction for the team, ensuring that activities of the team are aligned with related functions and initiatives.

About the team

The Mid-Corp Standard Policy Admin team has been established to bring simplicity and efficiency to our clients, intermediaries and colleagues through innovative use of data and technology. Customers will experience products and a customer journey that is consistent, easier to understand and reliable. To achieve this result-oriented goal we are building up an incubator - a small start-up squad within the company.

About you

  • 5+ years of hands on experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms.
  • 1+ year of experience in Insurance sector.
  • Hands-on experience with reviewing system architecture and database design of enterprise scale systems.
  • Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.
  • Design and construction of REST APIs.
  • Experience working on Microservices architecture.
  • Good knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate).
  • Experience with SQL databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL).
  • Comfort with Agile operating models.
  • Experience leveraging test driven development techniques.
  • Experience implementing testing platforms and unit tests (coding and execution for checking code coverage).
  • In depth knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with understanding of various phases such as requirements, analysis/design and development.

 

Desirable Skills / Attributes:

 

  • Experience in developing web applications using at least one popular web framework (JSF, Wicket, GWT, Spring MVC).
  • Experience with test-driven development.
  • Exposure to any of middleware solutions like MQ, Oracle fusion middleware(WebLogic), WebSphere, Open Source.
  • Good understanding of HTML5, CSS3 and Web Standards.
  • Exposure to portal/mobility development.
  • Experience in integration with ESB.
