Technical Expert

The Data Platform Engineering & Operations team deals with data & analytics platforms for enabling the creation of innovative solutions to data driven business needs. It also enables Swiss Re Group to efficiently utilize the platforms and ensures its availability and proper functioning. 



The Opportunity 

To extend the existing Analytics team we are seeking a Technical Expert/Architect who will contribute to the growth of our inhouse platforms working in tight cooperation with peers, internal experts and business clients to support, organize and manage various development activities within the team 


Key Tasks 

  • Support our data science community by designing, developing, and maintaining analytics platforms 

  • Ensure the proper Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery of the platforms 

  • Validate/evaluate whether a system or architecture meets business needs 

  • Proactively look for the possibility to automate and streamline the platforms and subsequently implement the suggested improvements 

  • Ensure timely customer communication and coordination of follow-up activities 

  • Build up sustainable relationships with key business and IT stakeholders to become a trusted partner in the field of data analytics 


About You 



  • 7+ years of professional experience ideally with a background in (Re-) Insurance industry 

  • Bachelor's degree/Master Study in computer science, information science (or equivalent) 

  • 3+ years proven experience in application architecture design and cloud concepts 

  • Experience in full stack application development (preferably Java stack) 

  • Experience in cloud development (preferably Azure) 

  • Experience in application security and data protection 

  • Experience in engineering and supporting web applications
