About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Life & Health BM Actuarial China, you will be mainly responsible for Economic Value Management(EVM) reporting including production/control process and result communication, also you will be in charge of model management with support from Bangalore team. In addition, you are expected to provide quality actuarial support for other reporting (CNGAAP, CROSS, IFRS17 etc) and actuarial technical improvement.


Your responsibilities

  • Be responsible for quarterly EVM reporting with data and system maintenance
  • Monitor, project and communicate performance of both in-force portfolio and growing new business with stakeholders including Client Markets, Product and Finance etc.
  • Manage new product modelling and existing model maintenance by working closely with Asia and Group modelling team
  • Utilize, review, and where required, conduct experience studies on all risks covered and on IBNRs for reserving and reporting purposes
  • The main focus is on the L&H business written in the China branch, with expectation of providing support to business portfolios from other branches of Swiss Re Asia as required


About the Team

BM Actuarial team is part of the L&H Business Management division in Swiss Re, responsible for reporting under various accountings. The team works closely with other departments in Asia's L&H community, including those in business origination functions (Client Markets and Products teams). Furthermore, the team has interdependent relationships with other units within the L&H Business Management division.


About you

  • Newly qualified actuary or part-qualified actuaries with more than 6 years of experience
  • Solid technical knowledge in reporting like CNGAAP/CROSS and experience working with an economic valuation framework (EVM, MCEV, IFRS 17)
  • Proficient in MS Excel and one Actuarial software. Knowledge of RAFM/Moses modelling system, GLM, Python would be considered an advantage;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and influencing skills;
  • Team work - ability to work with a multidisciplinary team across locations
  • Flexibility - capable of managing own workload and provide flexibility during peak periods
  • Language - good spoken and written English and Chinese
