About the role

  • Promote and sustain key Swiss Re (SR) relationships at all levels, extending our profile/positioning as a leading reinsurer in the market.
  • Effectively manage cross functional relationships to achieve strategic, business and financial targets as per approved Business Plan across all lines of business in China.
  • Ensure the top-quality delivery of our services to L&H R&N (regional & national) clients.
  • Conduct costing work under CMCA structure
  • Execute global and local strategic initiatives to generate profitability to Swiss Re.

 

The opportunity

General Job Outline:

  • Develop business and maintain relationship with our clients at all levels, including the working level, C-suites, decision-makers and key influencers of assigned clients.
  • Effectively manage cross function team to deliver appropriate solutions to meet with the client’s strategic growth aspirations, as well driving new reinsurance demands from the markets to meet Swiss Re's own growth aspirations.

Accountabilities:

  • Ensure Swiss Re (and generally you as the client manager) is the first port of call for assigned clients
  • Manage an assigned portfolio of clients, with optimal and efficient utilization of SR resources and at all times ensuring appropriate premium and profitability targets are met
  • Develop/Execute business plans including marketing objectives and strategies in respect of the portfolio of clients in assigned markets
  • Identify opportunities to work with assigned clients by delivering SR value propositions, and to secure business to meet plan.
  • Take leadership internally across various functions to ensure the teams are aligned to perform optimally for our clients
  • Conduct costing work under CMCA structure.

About you

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant insurance or reinsurance experience.
  • Action orientated with ‘hunger’ to achieve great results
  • Outgoing, confident with excellent social skills, written and verbal communication and presentation skills, marketing and negotiation skills
  • Self-starter, problem solver, creative, entrepreneurial, persistent, determined, ability to learn quickly and think on one's feet
  • Good network and markets knowledge in China
  • Fluent in English & Mandarin
  • Motivated and results oriented with an ability to work in a team (including coordinating various stakeholders) and deliver under pressure
  • Willing to travel as required
  • Marketing, Business Development or other professional qualification would be advantageous.
