About the Role

As a member of the China Life & Health actuarial costing team, the job holder will perform the pricing and supporting of one or more lines of Swiss Re BJ office's strategic focus areas, which involves keeping pricing basis up to date, designing products and services to meet clients’ various products, financial and risk management needs. From time to time the job holder may be required by the line manager to take on different roles / projects as well.

Mainland China is a key strategic market for Swiss Re Group and is in the fast stage of development, the challenge is to maintain technical integrity while fulfilling market needs.


  1. Develop and maintain the reinsurance pricing basis for different business lines in China
  2. Perform analysis on data relating to the emerging experience
  3. Design insurance products consistent with the pricing basis and risk management environment
  4. Provide input to the reinsurance treaty documentation
  5. Support the marketing of Swiss Re’s services by working closely with clients and external partners; expect significant (~25%) client facing time
  6. Perform ad hoc tasks as assigned by the line manager


About the Team

 The jobholder will be part of the pricing team and also part of the cross functional team that includes client market, pricing, underwriting, claims and other functions.


About You 

  • Bachelor degree or above required
  • Qualified / near qualified actuaries with an accredited actuarial society
  • 5-10 years industry experience
  • Several years of pricing experience in China preferred
  • Can demonstrate both strong technical knowledge and communication skills
  • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese required; fluency in English a plus
