About the Role

Are you looking for an opportunity to play a key role in Swiss Re's secure, compliant, and smart adoption of public cloud platforms, aimed at boosting our ability to make the world more resilient?  Would you like to apply your excellent IT service management knowledge to cutting-edge Infrastructure-as-Code deployments on Alibaba Financial/Public Cloud and help DevOps teams to adopt public cloud easily and safely? Do you like being able to influence how things are done and applying the right tools to any given challenge?

Then you are exactly the person we are looking for!

We are searching for a Modern Service Management Expert, whose mission is to enable DevOps teams to take full advantage of the flexibility of public cloud products while ensuring that the necessary governance and control of established service management disciplines are applied. Your focus will be on defining, developing, and validating the necessary controls and assurance protocols that are attached to certified cloud platform and certified infrastructure products which are used by DevOps teams in their deployment pipelines.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Manage the Alibaba enterprise & Azure cloud subscriptions, service agreements, triage financials, support in planning and estimation based on consumption and help projects to onboard to Alibaba Cloud.
  • Work closely with Alibaba/Azure Client and Account Manager for better fulfillment of services contracts.
  • Collaborate with Swiss Re internal sourcing and finance controlling team to continuously improve the Cloud service operations, monitoring, and management.
  • Creation and validation of the service management controls for certified products. Main control areas are: Governance; Cost Management; Incident and Major Incident Management; Monitoring, Logging & Event Management; Configuration Management; Change and Release Management; IT Service Continuity Management; Identity and Access Management.
  • Planning and coordinating the implementation activities of these controls with the various process owners.
  • Improving the existing Service Operation processes such as Incident, Problem, Change and Config Management to make them fit for the Alibaba cloud platform.
  • Suggesting and implementing improvements in the development process.
  • Take ownership to reduce cloud consumption & expense.
  • Supporting regulatory topics and activities as needed

 

About the Team

The Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) and China Platform (C3P) team partners with application delivery teams to innovate, deliver and operate solutions in a fast, secure and compliant way to enable and increase business value. We use DevOps principles combined with cloud-native service management and security controls to help drive business innovation, increase agility, and reduce time to value within a secure, predictable, and flexible services delivery and operations management capability.

As Modern Service Management expert you will be part of the Service Management group that is responsible for maintaining and further developing the Modern Service Management Control Framework (MSM-CF). The MSM-CF provides an approach for establishing the right level of control for cloud-based services, and a tool set to Modernize Service Management. The framework controls are designed and guided for implementation by the CCoE Platform and Product teams and is updated on a regular basis. The controls are described on a functional level and the framework specifies when certain controls must be implemented.  

 

About You

We are happy to meet you if you possess:

  • University degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or comparable education/experience)
  • >3 years of professional experience.
  • Technical knowledge and deep understanding of IT Service Management (e.g. ITIL V2-4, Cobit); Microsoft vision on Modern Service Management; Alibaba Cloud and Public Cloud Concepts; Defining and Deploying Operational MSM Practices (e.g. Cost Management, Configuration Management, Change and Release Management and Incident Management); Cloud Native (Modern) Service Management tooling; DevOps processes
  • Experience with: Azure DevOps, GitLab, Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Security Center, Log Analytics and BI tools such as PowerBI or QuickBI
  • Experienced communicator both written & verbal
  • Experience in finance controlling and accounting for IT
  • Strong English language skills
  • Strong analytical & conceptual skills
  • Ability to motivate others and readiness for close teamwork across multiple locations
