About the role

The job holder’s primary objective is to grow sustainable and profitable Life and Health reinsurance business for Swiss Re in China

About the job responsibilities:

  • Originating sales (including face to face interactions) with responsibility for developing and managing the relationship and client strategy with assigned clients (Mainly accountable for strategic divisional client- PICC life& health).
  • Preparing reinsurance proposals, working closely with other departments like underwriting, claims and Products' actuaries in order to facilitate the resolution of potential business issues.
  • Advising assigned clients on the full spectrum of Swiss Re products and differentiating solutions to meet their strategic growth aspirations and Swiss Re’s business objectives.
  • Managing all aspects of the client relationships and taking responsibility for respective technical and financial results including planning and budgeting while leading cross functional resources.
  • Leveraging client knowledge to identify, investigate, and resolve issues with business that is believed to be performing other than originally expected.
  • Ensuring application of guidelines and clean governance by coordinating and submitting
  • Provide necessary inputs and advices to all BU functions to ensure successful top and bottom line results achieved and business plan targets met
  • Support internal projects, research, monitoring and reporting

 

In a nutshell, the position is responsible for gaining and applying the knowledge necessary to create and price winning solutions that exceed client expectations and set Swiss Re apart from our competitors.

About you

  • With 8+ years industry experience actuarial/underwriting background a plus, you may have experience as a successful sales leader and will be a solid partnership builder who delivers results with clients and colleagues through meaningful relationships between customers and Swiss Re. You are excellent at listening and connecting needs.
  • You model our Swiss Re Leadership Imperatives and are confident developing and maintaining positive connections across functional areas
  • You are curious, open-minded, inclusive and hardworking to explore and pursue business ideas.
  • You can translate and simplify data analysis to create meaning.
  • With strong interpersonal skills, including a good command of English, you are a change agent who inspires others, coaches effectively and promotes team work. Self-aware, you have established trust through open, transparent communication and empower others through effective knowledge sharing.
  • You are not fazed by ambiguity and able to adapt at pace in changing environments
  • University degree/equivalent preferred but not essential
