About the role

- Support (Senior) Underwriters in analysing, assessing and costing of treaty and facultative business, consistent with Swiss Re's appetite and guidelines

- Support and perform administration of business

- Support (Senior) Underwriters in providing clients with solutions with meet marketing objectives and profitability targets

- Develop and improve technical know-how in the area of credit, surety and political risk (re-)insurance

- Gather information about clients as well as market, economic and legal developments relevant to credit and surety business

- Work in a matrix organization and appreciation of cross function cooperation


About the team

Global Credit and Surety team is a dynamic team with around 25 underwriters worldwide.  We aim to selectively grow and diversify our portfolio by following our underwriting standards


About You

  • Successfully completed university degree, preferably in business administration, economics, mathematics, engineering or equivalent
  • Strong interest in/motivation to learn about insurance/reinsurance
  • Strong knowledge in understanding financial statements
  • Approaches problems with curiosity and open-mindedness, is a fast learner
  • Innovative, showing a high degree of own initiative
  • Team-player, willingness to contribute actively to the overall team spirit
  • Ability and enthusiasm to work in a global and multicultural environment
  • Aptitude to express him-/herself effectively in one-on-one conversations and small groups
  • Mature & self-confident; Able to work with clients, business partners or senior colleagues
  • Capacity to readily adapt to a changing and dynamic environment
  • Proven expertise to work independently and proactively
  • Ability to readily adapt to different ways of doing things
  • Strong analytical skills and can focus on details without losing track of the bigger picture
  • Excellent oral and written English skills; Native Chinese speaker; additional language skills welcome
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills
