About the Role:

As the Head Partnership Marketing, you will have a unique and exciting opportunity to lead a new growth area for our business in China, working with diverse and motivated teams who are committed to delivering value and innovative services to potential partners across a wide range of industries and sectors in China.

 

You will lead all Partnership Marketing activities, engaging with a broad range of cross-functional teams and covering a wide range of strategic themes and projects, initially with a small team reporting to you. You are a truly strategic and analytical thinker, and enjoy structuring and driving complex business initiatives from ideation to implementation, thus supporting the leadership in building a sizeable and profitable business from its current start-up stage, across all personal lines of business.

 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Identify strategic business opportunities and challenges
  • Drive cross-functional strategic and commercial initiatives
  • Lead programs and projects across the Partnership Team
  • Act as point person for other departments and teams engaging in partnership opportunities in China
  • Manage and influence stakeholders of the Reinsurance Division and across other Swiss Re departments

 

About the Team

 

The Partnership Marketing Team is a new team. Established in Beijing in February of 2019 the team is focused on building knowledge and exploring opportunities for Swiss Re in new (non-traditional) distribution channels.

 

We put the consumers' needs in the centre of what we do, aim to become a digital champion and believe in data based learning. We use the Swiss Re network to access state of the art technologies and capabilities, combine it with local expertise and an innovative mind-set, constantly challenging current ways of offering insurance. Our aim is to drive the digital partnerships across the L&H and P&C insurance business in China, combining insurance know-how and e-commerce competencies, as well as the dynamic spirit of a start-up within the Reinsurance Business Unit.

 

The team will evolve over the course of the next two years as new opportunities arise and the need for new knowledge becomes clear. The team remains part of the Reinsurance Division Asia, but will work closely across the group to build its strategic knowledge including with Swiss Re Institute and Life Capital.

About You

  • You have 15-20+ years of progressively senior leadership in sales, marketing, and/or business development executive roles within the insurance industry.
  • You have successful track record of implementing strategy, business development, client relationship and achieving consistent, verifiable business results.
  • You are a strategic thinker, and approach topics in an analytical and structured way
  • You don’t stop at strategy: you enjoy driving business initiatives from concept to implementation
  • You constantly seek new business opportunities and anticipate challenges
  • You have a strong entrepreneurial spirit and commercial acumen
  • You communicate clearly to senior management, and are able to influence senior stakeholders
  • You speak English fluently with Mandarin an advantage.
