About the role

The candidate will directly support Head of Solutions Group, Life & Health China to drive the delivery of new client solutions that leverage on tech, data and distribution partners in China. This covers idea origination, business case formulation, screening vendors and execution, managing partnership relationship, leading data analytics projects.

This role requires an in-depth understanding of the partnership, digital and distribution landscapes with specific focus on the insurance and healthcare space and experience in disrupting legacy business models. The candidate should be keen to position Swiss Re as an innovator in the tech space and the related opportunities in China, in the context of product distribution and value chain opportunities, against a backdrop of regulatory and social constraints.

Reporting to Head of Solutions Group, L&H China, the successful candidate will also work closely with client managers, cross functional teams (actuarial, underwriting, claims) and regional teams (including InsurTech Solutions, Data Analytics, Tech transformation teams) in driving the execution of new partnership and data analytics projects. Key responsibilities include leading the design of new partnership solutions, contextualization and building the business cases, transforming selected concepts into ready to market robust solutions, managing the day to day interaction with various internal stakeholders, third party providers, distribution partners and insurance clients. This role will also be responsible to track the delivery and monetization of new partnership and data pilots in China.

About the team

New Partnership Manager, L&H China is a core member of Solutions Group, L&H China, which aims in driving differentiated reinsurance solutions and creating values to insurance clients in China, by leveraging on data analytics, insurtech, expert risk knowledge, value added services, inforce portfolio management and consumer insights. The team gets to consult within a cross-functional team environment in the greater Swiss Re and with key life insurance clients in China, which provides ample opportunity to broaden your job scope beyond the key accountabilities listed.

About You

• Minimum 10 years of working experience. Less experience candidate will be considered as Assistant Vice President.

• The ability to build relationships internally and externally is seen as key requirement with experience in bringing together different parties of the value chain together to deliver innovative solutions

• Excellent business sense and marketer, strong drive for meeting (internal and external) client's needs, agility to come up workable alternatives

• Hands on experience in building business cases for digital platform, distribution channels, or Fintech / Insurtech / Healthtech / E-commerce / Start-ups is a must

• Ability to demonstrate significant understanding of digital insurance/reinsurance ecosystem and distribution models in China / Asia is an advantage

• Knowledge of change driven by technology, particularly in an industry with limited reputation for change and agility

• Strong ownership, passion for success and project management skills to drive new projects

• Good at building collaboration as well as constructively challenging teams to push material and result focused business delivery

• Professional presentation skills to speak at industry conferences and client workshops to showcase Swiss Re value proposition

• Excellent communication and influence skills to induce changes within a complex matrix organization

• Fluent English speaker; able to read and present in Mandarin is a must
