About the role

  • As Agriculture solutions owner, lead Swiss Re China Agriculture solutions cross-functional team, enhance and execute Agriculture solutions strategy, develop pipelines, and achieve Swiss Re's ambitions in Agriculture segment.
  • Drive and define Agriculture insights and solutions to meet needs from primary insurance partners.
  • Work closely with client managers and underwriters in commercialising Agriculture solutions.
  • Coordinate local, regional and global resources, ensure products and services delivered effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify, develop and maintain partnerships, including but not limited to agriculture insurance companies, start-ups, tech companies and distribution channels.
  • Closely monitor Agriculture industry trends and regulations.
  • Support Head of China P&C Client Solutions in managing internal stakeholders, including but not limited to senior management, client markets, underwriters and solutions team.
  • Attend industrial events and deliver presentations to promote Swiss Re risk knowledge leader position.

As Agriculture solutions owner you will implement Swiss Re's Agriculture solutions in China and perform a diverse set of responsibilities in order to strongly position Swiss Re as a leader in the Agriculture Insurance space. This is a unique opportunity to drive innovation and technological developments so as to be part of the re/insurance transformation.

 

About you

       Professional Experience

  • 10+ years work experience in relevant insurance innovation and/or proven relevant experience in the agricultural industry, with a solid network and market knowledge in China (re)insurance market and agriculture industry
  • Deep understanding of Agriculture industry landscape, China Agriculture insurance market and future developments.
  • Proven business development acumen and strong track record of developing new business model, selling innovative solutions and building client relationships.
  • Broad network in Chinese Agriculture sector in the insurance industry is preferred
  • Understanding in Agriculture insurance pricing, Nat Cat modelling, Agriculture Insurance Insights

     

       Skills & Capabilities

  • Preferably master degree or above in Agriculture, Natural Hazards, Finance, Economics, Insurance or other related disciplines
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem solving and innovative thinking skills, as well as attention to details
  • Excellent skills in, communication, presentation, sales, negotiation, influencing, etc.
  • Outstanding record in marketing, business development and project management
  • Highly motivated and results oriented with a strong team spirit
  • Passionate to take on new initiatives and build things from scratch
  • Proficient in written and verbal English and Mandarin
  • Comfortable with frequent traveling and multi-tasks

 

      Others

  • Fluent in speaking, writing, and reading both English and Mandarin.
  • Based in Beijing, and willing to travel as required
