About the role

 

We look for forward thinking individuals who have a passion for data, analytics, technology, and creativity to join our iptiQ Americas Analytics team.

 

The Data Analytics Professional will lead, collaborate, and/or work on IptiQ Americas adventures in intelligently using broad data, advanced analytics, and modern technology to support or develop smart business operation platforms. Responsibilities include all or some of the following:

 

  • Define goals: properly communicate, understand and define business issues that require data/analysis selections for tangible returns
  • Design projects: think out of box, focus on goals, design scientifically, deliver actionably
  • Police data: gain in depth understanding of various data sources of data, make intelligent data choice, practice adequate data quality control
  • Innovate analytics: make choices of appropriateness, practicality, and insightfulness over commonness, popularity, and exuberance 
  • Lead/support teams: collaborate with business, analytics, and technology units throughout Swiss Re and external sources
  • Deliver results: manage proposals, progresses, deliverables, interpretation, documentation, and implementation

 

 

About the Data & Analytics team

As a member of iptiQ America's Data & Analytics team, you will help to influence, to shape, and to optimize business strategies and operations. The team strives for "best in class" data, analytics, and application practices in Swiss Re and in the insurance industry. 

 

 

 

About You

 

  • BA/BS degree in Math, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Econometrics, Epidemiology, Psychology, Engineering, Computer Science, Decision Science, Business Management, or other quantitative sciences. Advanced degrees are preferred.
  • 7 – 10 years of experience in data and analysis related practices.
  • Insurance industry experiences preferred but not required.
  • Conceptual skills to understand and characterize business needs, and to design tailored analytical solutions
  • Hands to keyboard ability to deliver data and analytical projects
  • Expertise in one or more of the following: data mining, text mining, predictive modeling, statistical analyses, segmentation, computer simulation, optimization, and analytics project management
  • Strong knowledge of structured and unstructured data systems and management tools.
  • Proficiency with MS Office products.
  • Proficiency with relational databases and SQL.
  • Proficiency with at least one statistical package such as Python, R, SAS, MATLAB, SPSS and Stata etc.
  • Experience with qualitative analytics applied in surveys and market research a plus.

  • Ability to communicate technical topics with clarity and effectiveness.
  • Ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance.
  • Team leader/player with a "can do" attitude. 
  • Ability to adapt to a fast paced and flexible work environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written English. Multi-lingual a plus.
