About the role


As a Project Manager, you will have an outstanding and exciting opportunity to join the team in charge of setting up and running a new US business unit within a global company. You will be part of a diverse and cross functional team committed to delivering/enhancing valuable services, new technology and product offerings. This includes services that can help our clients increase penetration and profitability in their markets.


 The Project Manager is required to:


  • Make independent project decisions preserving the stakeholder's business intent and success measures.
  • Advocate for the business partners while addressing project critical issues autonomously.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources for the execution of projects.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time, on budget, and within scope, following a SAFe Agile project methodology.
  • Partner with Project Sponsor in defining project scope, and objective.  Facilitate Steering Committee Meetings as needed.
  • Collaborate with product management on feature delivery, attend and present holistic project view at Program Increment Planning Events, partner with product owners/scrum masters on execution.
  • Organize and facilitate meetings with functional representatives both with internal and external to team; working effectively across entities to ensure a smooth implementation.
  • Create, maintain, and distribute project reporting from onset through post implementation.
  • Lead changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs; presenting cost/benefit to stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain effective relationship management with internal and external team members.
  • Be the primary point of contact for assigned projects.
  • Preform risk management to minimize or mitigate project risks.
  • Coach and guide analysts aligned to projects to support requirements and testing.
  • Effectively manage a diverse vendor community on a day-to-day basis, as needed.

The position is further expected to:

  • Cultivate a transparent culture through frequent, concise, and substantive communication.
  • Present data in a meaningful way, formulate recommendations that drive key business decisions.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns and recommend corrective action if needed.
  • Possess strong knowledge of processes and systems across all front-end functions.
  • Understand all front-end processes and systems, including intersections with other functional units and external vendors and partners.

We are a start-up unit, established to deliver innovative protection solutions sold directly to consumers. Our team delivers the coordination, infrastructure and competencies that are key to driving forward this new business, working closely with our partners and clients.

About You

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a life/health insurance setting
  • Demonstrated ability handle multiple assignments with overlapping delivery dates
  • Proven ability to manage holistically and drive projects across multiple departments and functions
  • Ability to deal positively with ambiguity in a fast-paced, start up business environment
  • Proven execution focus while keeping perspective on the organizational strategy
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills; able to foster relationships and build consensus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience – experience operating within a SAFe Agile environment preferred, but not required
