About You 



  • General 

  • Develop deep product knowledge and domain expertise thoroughly understanding and assuming ownership of all product capabilities  

  • Work with one or more Agile Teams through an in-person or remote capacity 

  • Facilitate discussions with business around the current and future capabilities of product 

  • Facilitate and prioritize competing requirements across various business teams 

  • Foresee capability requirements even without customers asking 

  • Provide guidance and mentoring to other team members 

  • Participate in functional and capability meetings with vendors and other clients 


  • Program Increment and Sprint Execution: 

  • Work directly with Product (Business) Managers to create, own and define product backlogs 

  • Decompose and deconstruct refine features into user stories as required understanding the "what" should be built and "why" 

  • Develop user stories and define acceptance criteria 

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure consensus on sprint priorities and scope of proposed enhancements including product releases and upgrades 

  • Accept completed work from the delivery teams within the sprints ensuring Definition of Done is upheld 

  • Conduct sprint and innovation demos 

  • Formulate, organize and monitor inter-connected projects 

  • Coordinate and identify cross-product needs, dependencies and deliveries  

  • Act as the conduit between business and IT working closely with engineering and quality assurance to ensure the right problem is solved 

  • Lead Product Increment knowledge transfer sessions 



Other Qualifications 


  • Experience: 

  • 4+ years of experience in product ownership - including backlog management, story authoring and mapping and acceptance criteria definition. 

  • Experience working in an Agile environment (ideally SAFe) 

  • Experience in the insurance industry preferred 


  • General: 

  • Technical background with knowledge of software development and web technologies 

  • Strong business aptitude and ability to frame problems with a viewpoint to achieve the business goal 

  • Ability to collaborate and work autonomously 

  • Strong operational and problem-solving mindset, decisive with an extremely proactive and assertive attitude 

  • Outstanding leadership, communication, influencing and negotiation skills
