Software Engineer in Test

About the role 

 

As Experienced Lead QA engineer for iptiQ Americas, you will be working on several key Testing initiatives, leveraging testing frameworks and tools like Selenium, Cucumber, Citrus and SoapUI. Providing Leadership to the testing team and ensuring the team effectively delivers. Works with other teams to optimize all testing, enhance efficiency in testing and improve the software quality for the overall organization. You will be working very closely with the business partners and external solution vendors 

 

Key Responsibilities:  

 

  • Design and develop manual test cases based on business requirements. 

  • Participate Test Case Review sessions 

  • Participate in Test Strategy sessions 

  • Able to generate test data as required for project testing   

  • Understands key daily reporting elements needed for stakeholders and partners 

  • Review defects and host defect triage calls as required 

  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis sessions 

  • Work close with QA team, ensuring that activities of the team are aligned with related functions and initiatives. 

  • Participate on continuous improvement efforts within the QA organization & Research and evaluate new testing technologies and tools.   

 

About You

 

  • Minimum of 2 years overall experience for the execution and control of the all aspects of testing.  

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with any testing automation tools.  

  • Experience with various testing methodologies. 

  • Experience with Tools such as SoapUI Pro / Ready API or Postman  

  • Experience with Test management tools like Jira, Microsoft Test Case Management tools.  

  • Working knowledge of RDBMS, NoSQL, XSD/JSON Schema validation 

  • Understanding of Defect tracking system  

  • Working understanding of troubleshooting 

  • Experience working in agile/scrum environment and working knowledge of Agile tools. 

  • Experience in leveraging on-shore / off-shore staffing for QA activities. 

  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline using Azure for continuous build as a plus.

Other Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / MIS or relevant work experience 

  • Experience working in insurance or life insurance space a plus 

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical issues 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations 

  • Strong leadership, analytical and problem solving skills 

  • Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple priorities and execute through ambiguity 

  • Ability to travel as needed
