About the role:

 

Are you looking for an unconventional Junior reporting position, crossing the border of Finance, Accounting and Reinsurance? Then we have the opportunity for you.

We are a highly specialized team of experts, based in Zurich and Bratislava, taking the responsibility for the End-to-End process of structured reinsurance solutions, which require a personalized accounting treatment following the US GAAP, IFRS and Statutory valuations. Due to the global growth of our activities we are now looking for a new colleague to join us in Bratislava office.

While this role is primarily supporting Non Traditional Business activities, you will get a wider exposure to our business supporting colleagues with other tasks and activities related to Financial Accounting and Reporting.

 

Key accountabilities:

  • Gain understanding of all Transaction details – contract review, discussions with Structurer, Portfolio Management, Actuaries, Claims, Legal, Group Accounting, etc.
  • Ensure the assigned Transactions are entered in the Financial Ledger in accordance with the deal structure & the US GAAP accounting sign-off
  • Process reported statements, outgoing payments and receipts related to assigned deals (i.e. bookings, payment instructions, notifications to brokers and clients, follow up on overdue items, etc.) and perform closing activities on a quarterly basis
  • Provide information on assigned Transactions to various parties of interest
  • Ensure data quality control environment is adhered to
  • Ad-hoc tasks such as Project work, System enhancement, reports and Analysis
  • Support colleagues in Financial Accounting and Reporting Activities
  • Perform other position related tasks as instructed by Supervisor

 

About the team:

 

We are a global team of experts, mainly based in Zurich and Bratislava, taking the responsibility for the End-to-End process for prospective, deposit accounted and retroactive transactions. Due to the growth of our activities, we are now looking for a colleague to join us in Bratislava office.

Your role contains the recording of treaty details, determining of earning profiles, calculating cash flows according to pricing information and client agreement, accounting of client statements including invoicing on a quarterly basis, following the rules of US GAAP, IFRS and Statutory valuations.

While this role is primarily supporting Non Traditional Business activities, you will get wide exposure to our business supporting colleagues with other tasks and activities related to Financial Accounting and Reporting.

 

About you:

 

Key skills, knowleadge, qualifications & experience

  • Some experience in a role relevant to Reinsurance, Financial Reporting or Accounting, with understanding of Profit & Loss Statement and Balance Sheet
  • Ability to fluently communicate in English across various groups of people
  • Willingness to continuously learn
  • Strong analytical and data management skills
  • Ability to understand and adapt fast to complex work-flows and systems
  • Ability to set priorities and keep set deadlines
  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics preferred
  • Understanding of US GAAP and/or IFRS valuation for Reinsurance is an advantage

 

Minimum salary from 1100 EUR gross/month/full time and other rewards. Our offer to you may be higher based on your experience.*
