About the Role

 

Are you looking for a new venture at the heart of Swiss Re's economic value management and steering framework? In this position, you will:
•    Contribute to the reporting of EVM financial statements, including governance related tasks
•    Provide customised / ad-hoc analyses and investigate data anomalies related to EVM parameters and EVM reported numbers
•    Contribute to the implementation of new technologies in our processes and tools
•    Take ownership of the calibration process of parameters for the EVM, US GAAP and IFRS accounting frameworks
•    Be encouraged to bring up and embrace new ideas to take advantage of agile and changing environment
•    Contribute to projects on matters of economic-based valuation and reporting frameworks

 

About the Team 


Economic Valuation & Methodology is a team of nine split between Zurich and Bratislava, and we are part of Group Reporting within Group Finance. We maintain and further develop the Group's framework for Economic Value Management (EVM) and act as the owners of its interpretation and implementation. In addition, we contribute to general debates within Swiss Re around business steering based on economic principles.
We are closely working together with the Economic Reporting team in Zurich. Also, we collaborate with colleagues in Finance and Treasury as well as in Risk Management, Asset Management and Underwriting on matters related to economic valuation and capital allocation.


•    EVM is Swiss Re's internal framework for measuring value creation and steering the company, including planning, pricing, reserving and asset-liability management (ALM). EVM also serves as starting point for our economic-based regulatory reporting such as the Swiss Solvency Test (SST) or Solvency II.


About You


Are you passionate about working on a wide range of interesting and challenging matters? Do you love to work in a high-performing team?
You have excellent analytical skills with holistic financial thinking and be able to interpret financial data. You demonstrate strong personal accountability and are competent to work a flexible schedule and deliver under time pressure. You have the ability to perform tasks with a high degree of autonomy, but also collaborate with all partners to deliver on clearly attributed goals and objectives.

 

Your profile:
•    University degree, preferably in Economics, Corporate Finance or equivalent
•    Some experience in Finance or Risk Management and/or in (re)insurance as an advantage
•    Creative, showing a high degree of own initiative
•    Detail oriented and diligent in execution
•    Team-player, eagerness to contribute actively to the overall team spirit
•    Excellent oral and written English skills
•    Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required. Knowledge in data science and visualisation as a benefit

 

Minimum base salary for this job from 1100 EUR gross/month/full time. Our offer to you may be higher based on your skills and experience and will include additional rewards and benefits.*
